Is Newlyweds officially over?

Was this the last and final season that concluded last Wednesday?

GuessWho 08-20-04 08:58 AM

I believe so.

Jessica has said recently that that's it, no more cameras, they're not "newlyweds" anymore anyway.

Nor are they interesting, attractive, or talented. But I guess that gets you a TV show on MTV (see Simpson, Ashlee).

fumanstan 08-20-04 10:56 AM

Personally, i think they're plenty interesting and attractive.

Ok... are you on crack?

Attractive? Hell yes. Jessica is beautiful and I'm not gay, but Nick is good looking man. Talented? They can out-sing everyone I know personally. Interesting? I find Jessica's antics and Nicks "Do it yourself projects" to be plenty entertaining.

But, if I were them, I would want the show to end too.

Big Boy Laroux 08-20-04 12:05 PM

i think they need to get on with their lives, without the cameras.

i'm sure that they are grateful for the show, since it helped truly make them a household name, but it's time for it to end.

i agree with the above. they are both attractive and still interesting, ESPECIALLY nick's do-it-yourself projects. he should get a show on HGTV or something. he cracks me up. he has a crapload of money, but still tries to do everything himself (with his brother being dragged along for the ride). you gotta respect that.

Howiefan 08-20-04 12:19 PM

Rumors are that Britney Spears and her fiance are in talks with MTV to star in the next edition of Newlyweds next year.

Big Boy Laroux 08-20-04 12:26 PM

oh hell no... that would suck. even before the original newlyweds, you could tell that jessica and nick had some redeeming qualities.

can't say the same for briteny, her fiance, and all his ex-wives and kids...

saoirse 08-20-04 12:39 PM

how many seasons were there?

There have only been 2 seasons of Newlyweds so far. I had heard that they were going to stop after the 3rd season so I guess we will have to wait and see if they actually go through with the 3rd season.

saoirse 08-20-04 01:52 PM

Thanks.

Ted The Bug 08-20-04 02:22 PM

Well, there have been 3 blocks of 10 episodes, maybe that is what they meant by 3 "seasons" (although for some reason, epguides.com considers the second and third 10-episodes blocks to be the second season).

corycouger 08-20-04 03:58 PM

The Osbournes is still going on and they should have quit after the 2nd season so you never know plus you don't think Nick & Jessica would walk away if they were offered a huge pile of money?

They might be begging for MTV to do another season if their careers go down the toilet.

Except while Nick doesnt have much of a career to speak of, Jessica is still very popular, so i don't think either of them really need to worry about going poor in the near future.

Nick is currently filming six episodes of Charmed.

Joeboo835 08-20-04 09:55 PM

Isn't jessica doing a sitcom for abc?

Clyde099 08-20-04 10:08 PM

I too heard that this was the final season, and it is rumored that Britney and Kevin (I think that's the name of the guy she's marrying) will take over the show or have a similar show in the works.

"Simpsons did it first."

She did a pilot but it wasn't picked up.

Not just for some reason, MTV counts it the same way. There has only been 2 seasons, Jessica said they are done after season 3.

g347g73vv3w 08-22-04 02:52 PM

Yeah, Jessica Simpson has said that they are done with the show now.

But Sharon Osbourne had said the same thing in the past, and she kept going, so who knows.

In my best Vincent Vega voice...

"Whats a pilot?"

Sorry, had to say it.

I am one of those that find the show fairly entertaining mostly just for Nick and his projects and how he copes with Jessica.

Thats a great idea. Nick sems to have a really cool way about himself. If he didn't have his own project type show I think he would be a great host for a Trading Spaces/While You Were Out kind of show. I would watch. Since his singing career seems to be over that might be something to look into (I personally don't see his acting going that far).

Yeah - he is a very down-to-earth guy.

The way Jessica pours through money this is not a safe assumption.
