hi, my name is Chris and I'm a TIVOaholic. I am one of TIVOs bitches and there isn't anything I can do about it. :D

I currently have 2 DTIVOs in my living room so I can record 4 things at once. plus I also have 2 vcrs in the same room to pick up another 2 if needed. I am currently planning DTIVO #3(to replace the vcrs) and maybe Panasonics new DVD recorder with its tivo like features. that should keep me covered for the new season. :)

I similarly have about 30 dvds to see, but I'm just sucked into whatever tivo has for me. Part of it is that I prefer things in Tivo. Mostly because of the 8sec back button and stuff. If I've got a movie on Dvd and in tivo. I'll choose tivo unless it's edited or something. Then watch the extras I want on the dvd.

Right, that is what I figured because the highest quality input is S-video. But this machine outputs progressive, so it kinda helps the video. But it records the signal, so I do get the widescreen image. I haven't played with it enough to know if it is putting out 5.1 though.

Still can't figure the damn thing out. When I go to reset the system it says to hit the 'thumbs down' button 3 times then 'enter.' Well when I do this it just gives me the TiVo error message sound. Won' let me reset it. I might have to call them.

figured it out. If anyone cares or has the same issues. I had tivo set to 'satellite.' Well I realized locals come over the antenna so I had to go through the guided setup and select 'satellite & antenna.' Works like a charm now.

edited to add: When I set it up, I used the free trial period and you can't have two inputs unless you subscribe to the service. So 'satellite & antenna' or 'satellite & cable' weren't even an option on the menu when I first set it up.

so there you go.

I have a Replay. I just don't know what to record. Most of TV doesn't really interest me unless it is sci-fi or a comedy. Eh. I don't know. I use mine mainly to record things that will be on if I'm not home. I think I'll use it a lot more when football starts. I'm going to put all the Iowa Hawkeye games on DVD.

The summer is nice since most shows go on break. Once the season starts it's so hard to keep up with all the shows you love and all the new great shows that everyone recommends. I mean with just the Law and Order series and CSI series there's six shows.

I'm just glad I've finished catching up on Buffy, Stargate, and almost fully done with Angel - so that will clear up a few hours a day.
