Figure they did not start riding until 6 pm at the earliest (getting saddled up, etc). I can't believe they finished the leg before 7:30.
I missed where they said C&C finished at 11:30. But I wasn't paying real close attention at that point in the show, so I'm sure you're correct.

Linda and Karen.

Yep Colin and Christie finished at 11:27 am.

I read from somewhere that CBS ordered two more seasons of TAR after seeing the results of this season, so I would not be surprised if bowling moms end up surviving much longer than the conventional predictions. Team 2K is probably the weakest in terms of racing performance but has tremendous luck and help from others, so they may stick around for a while until their luck runs out. That leaves pizza boys with bad luck and injury as the most likely team to be eliminated.
I don't understand the first point. Why would CBS ordering more seasons of TAR (my favorite reality show) help the bowling moms survive elimination this week? I hope that they do last longer because at least the bowling moms have positive attitudes unlike many of the other teams. I will go the theory that the team that was not shown in the previews will be eliminated. I do not believe that Chip/Kim and Brandon/beauty queen were shown.

Comfort Eagle 08-09-04 08:00 PM

I hope the brothers get kicked off. I dont have any problem with the moms or really any of the other teams anymore.

It's good to see this is becoming a more popular show, both in the ratings and in the thread responses. We're well into page 2 on an episode that hasn't aired yet! Can we shoot for 3 by showtime? :)

Added the teasers from the CBS site to the original post
Didn't think spoilerizing was necessary this week since we saw the confrontation between
Spoiler:
Colin & Christie and Mirna & Charla
in the previews at the end of last weeks show. Also, we all know the Bowling Moms have no money at the beginning of this leg.

The goat herding really sounds like bad news for the Pizza Brothers and since the sand dig "frustrates" several teams, I can easily imagine them getting bogged down by that too. I'm sticking with my vote that they'll be Philiminated this week.

Chew, you oughta check out the forum board for The Amazing Race at www.televisionwithoutpity.com . They have as many threads about the Amazing Race as we have posts. And although they restrict threads about the upcoming show before and during broadcasts, the thread can get up to 30 pages within a couple of hours after the broadcast. If you want to see an indication of a show's popularity, look there.

Anything shown in previews is generally considered to be a spoiler here until the episode actually airs. Plenty of people don't watch previews at all in order to avoid spoilers as much as possible.

Good point. Fixed.

I can still hope that Team 1.5 or The Mario Brothers are last this week, but I had to vote for the Bowling Moms. It would take a miracle for them to get past this leg seeing as they have no money for cabs, etc.
I wonder though, if the leg goes to another country, how are they supposed to get plane tickets? I'm sure that begging for tickets wouldn't work. Though I suppose that other teams could pool money to purchase tickets for them once they find out that they had to forfeit all money and not get any for the next leg to start out. But realistically, how many teams would?

Surely the show has to do something. Or are the moms expected to work a job to somehow make money?
Should be an interesting show.

Groucho 08-10-04 12:20 PM

Plane tickets aren't paid for by cash. Each team has a special credit card that is used especially for that purpose.

Cash is used for things like Taxis.

Canis Firebrand 08-10-04 12:22 PM

Ahhh.. that is a little better for them. I was under the impression that they had to use the cash they were given to pay for plane tickets as well.
I've only watched this season and the last.

Fellow AR fans don't forget, tonight's episode is on at 7:00 PM EST, not at 10:00 PM.

:)

I have TiVo, I don't have to remember. ;)

Thanks for the info anyway. :)

Chew 08-10-04 02:53 PM

Wait, are you sure that isn't only in your area? Nothing prime-time ever plays at 6PM CST! The online guides still say 10EST

Red Dog 08-10-04 03:03 PM

7 pm EST? :hscratch:

It is on at the regularly scheduled time here in DC (10 pm). cbs.com also says 10 pm.

Struz 08-10-04 03:06 PM

The Yankees-Rangers game is on CBS tonight at 8:00 PM.

So are you in NY or Texas? That game isn't showing here, it's the regular CBS schedule. Sounds like your affiliate might be pre-empting?

Iron Chef 08-10-04 03:41 PM

10:00pm EDT tonight here too.

OK I have to :D at this, because they're never given more than a couple hundred dollars, that'd be some smooth talking to get from South America to Russia on that kind of cash... ;)

B.A. 08-10-04 09:37 PM

The Great Pyramid was cool as hell. And Charla didn't have to duck on her way to the center. That camerawork was too funny.

Of course C/C's lead went to shit ten minutes after the show started. -ohbfrank-

Damn, Mirna is such a whiny bitch.

I was going to say "psychotic f**king bitch", but yeah same idea. That girl has some issues to resolve.

Of course the 11-hour lead C&C had was wiped out by all the teams taking the same flight. I wonder why TAR even bothers to be done that way. Nice to see the Bowling Moms getting through, they earned it (well by begging at least) ;).

Too bad for Marshall and Lance. I felt for them, as I've got a back injury myself right now. Guess we won't have to deal with their ugly Americanism at least.

I am so glad that C&C won that leg given the hours-of-operation BS. Even better was that it was a prize leg. Why even bother with it - just tell them beforehand that they will have to sit at an entrance for 7 hours. Lame.

Not so sorry to see the Ugly American Mario Bros come in last.

And yes - Mirna is a whiney bitch.
