I Love the 90s: Part Deux
I don't know if this was all ready posted, if it was please be my guest and close this thread.
This just in from www.weirdal.com AL SPEAKS! Want to hear what Al thinks about...stuff? Well, you can see him making his usual idiotic comments on CMT's 20 Funniest Videos special, premiering on July 23. And rumor has it that he may even pop up on a few VH1 shows this fall, including "I Love The 90's - Part Deux" and "Cheestastic Video Tricks." |
That's great!
|
I apparently don't love the 90's as much as I thought I did. Still, I'll be tuning in out of obligation.
|
I'm SO there
|
I just hope they keep Rachael Harris on board for this next one.
|
Sounds good to me, there's a lot more stuff to cover.

Can't wait!

I already saw 1990 and 1991 (90 aired yesterday afternoon and 91 aired this morning, TIVO snatched the two for me). The interview footage combines leftover footage from the first go-around a few months ago and new footage created specifically for this week. One can easily tell this by the way Hal Sparks changes apperances. ;)
So far, I found 1990 and 1991 to be more enjoyable than their first parts. Months ago I complained that VH1 was quickly running this "series" (per say) into the ground, but there were moments today in which I was in complete tears (wait for Godfrey's apperance during the beeper segment in 91). Oh and Rachel Harris is back. As well as some more regulars from the sister show Best Week Ever (when new episodes start at 11pm on Friday after 1999). |
Didn't "Unplugged" hit its heyday more in 1993-1994?
I just remember Kiss, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP and, of course, Tony Toni Tone and Arrested Development :). I thought it didn't really hit its peak until a few years after 1990. Probably the only MTV show I miss. Even though it would probably be really crappy bands now. |
This is 100x better than the original I Love the 90s. They saved all the good stuff for the second round.
|
1990 and 1991 part 2 were kinda boring. I caught both of them early also. Here's hoping better stuff for 92 and 93.

I still hate the dancing baby. Maybe even more so now that it's thugged out.
|
Still no mention of the SNES or the Sega Genesis. Are the commentators just too old?
|
I don't know...I liked both 70's...both 80's...and the first 90's...but I don't know about this one...
|
Any show that has Morris Day and Barry Sobol has to be good, right??

This set has been WAY funnier than the first round. I was in tears during the dolphin-safe tuna section: Hal Sparks: Flipper? I just met her... It was all in the look at the camera at the end  |
Has anyone noticed in the bottom corner of the screen where the VH1 logo is they always seem to have the wrong year listed? For most of the 1991 episode it had 99 listed at the bottom.
|
I'll have to have my Tivo scour the listings for this to record them.
I can't wait for more Best Week ever... some of the comments made leave me rotfl Rachel Harris really makes both shows. She looks serious, but then comes out with a comment that is hilarious. |
I think this series is way funnier than the first 90's series. Ben Stein is just cracking me up. "Tell Hollywood to get me some bitches".

Once again, Hal Sparks makes the show. Watching 1990 now. Hal Sparks: I always thought voguing was like little face kung-fo.. and then the sounds he makes. And talking about Cop Rock: Yeah, you can bust criminals, but can you fosse? rotfl |
Who decided to sign Loni Love again? I could tolerate her before but she's getting annoying.
