Alf's talk show
Did anyone see this tonight? I missed it, but it looks like it will be rerun a bunch of times. Is this a weekly series or just a special?
And I just found out that Alf is on TVland.

It was okay, nothing hilarious. Tried a little hard for much of the humor. I'm a big ALF fan, so I welcome him back!
I think they are hoping for a series (the call it the 'Premier Episode' on the TVLand website), but I haven't read any confirmation of future episodes. Probably depends on how successful this one is.
Watching the ALF episode where he is on Gilligan's Island right now. Classic.
PS: ALF Season 1 on DVD August 10, for those interested.

Interesting. A few chuckles. Actually a lot funnier than alot of "real" talkshows
I hope they do more, get rid of Ed and the bits.

I thought it was pretty good. I'm glad it's 30 mins. It's not an in depth interview show, so there's no need for a full hour, and I hate when talk shows try to pack on the filler with unfunny material. ALF's very quick-witted, so banter with the guests will probably be successful. I've been terribly disappointed with the direction TVLand has taken in recent years, but I'd tune in to this if it were a series.

I'd watch that. But no celebrity would go on it. Except Kathy Griffin, maybe.

Add to that that he is a one trick pony (crud) as opposed to ALF or Ali G who have shticks but are still characters.

Anyone else catch that they were promoting new shows starting tonight? Even the TVLand website and schedule show a new show this week.
They advertised it all week as new with Merv Griffin and Joe Mantegna (with clips).
But tonight, instead they showed a repeat of the pilot, with Dennis Franz and Drew Carey.
Yeah, the show was pretty bad, but WTF??
