I think it was because Corey was one of the few who werent doing their canned routines. He was sort of winging it and apparantly got some laughs from the patrons. The others bombed for the most part. I also thought it was nice that he took Kathleen with him.

Yep. He won on both fronts: he gave an impromptu routine based on the unique situation and he got laughs from the audience. How could you not declare him the winner?

Corey getting picked to go to Aspen didn't surprise me at all either.

I think one reason Bonnie picked John is that she was pissed he voted for her, but she would rather lose to him than anyone else.

That was Bonnie's fault, not his. His strategy was fairly sound. It was obvious Bonnie was going to get the majority vote. He goes with the flow bringing his "enemies" closer to him assuming that Bonnie will challenge Tammy. Bonnie blew it by taking it personally and going after Heffron. She should have taken a shot at Tammy or Ant, I'm sure she would have been more confident and comfortable during the performance. I think Ant is the easy target & she should have taken the shot.

Ant has got to go.

Personally I found it hilarious that the 4 I dislike the most, are the ones ganging up on the others. Tammy, Ant, Alonzo, and Jay. Alonzo seems decent but the others are terrible and don't belong there. If it comes down to those four, I'll bail on the show.

"I think I am funnier than Jay London... thank you." lol.

Was hoping that someone was going to say "I know I'm funnier than Dat Phan"

Hey! Don't count out Tammy's impromtu "I don't have a voice routine".

My thoughts exactly. I saw this and rolled my eyes. The only good news about this is that they should be fairly easy to thin out once they challenge someone who is smart enough to go after THEM. (Sorry Bonnie, I loved ya, but that was a bad move.)

Tammy and Ant are the worst. I HATE the fact that Tammy is a comedian who can't take a frickin' joke! And Ant is no better... did you see the look of offense on his face when Corey picked him? Good lord, how can you be so thin-skinned and still be stand up comedians? I'm surprised they haven't killed themselves by now.

I couldn't have said it better.

I stopped watching after the laundromat bit. I couldn't believe that Corey was chosen by the secret judge to have done the best. "Hey, I want to be with you. What'cha doin' in a laundromat at 9 pm? That's why you got no man, but I still want to be with you." He is unfunny and annoying.
I think it takes balls to insult or piss off your audiance (Andy Kaufman anyone?). "If you had laundry facilities at your house you'd be with your man right now." He's not the funniest guy in the world, but from what they showed, seemed the best at the laundrymat. Although I did like Jay London's "How do you like my 'overall' appearance?"

ruddiger_718 06-23-04 11:45 AM

Bonnie leaving means no more sexual appeal in the house, now all of the good looks goes to the dreamy Todd Glass!

Actually he was the funniest by far at the laundromat, but that isn't saying much, so in a sense I agree with you! ;)

Well it looks like this years unfunny comics pale in comparison to last years 4 or 5 real funny comics. But I'll keep watching, hoping for a gem to appear.

Heffron is the bastard child of Bob Goldthwaite and Adam Sandler. He's still funnier than Bonnie.

:rotfl: That's exactly what I was thinking!! :rotfl:

Pointing out the truth is exactly why Heffron is so funny: he highlights the parts of life that have genuine humor, instead of trying to pull a joke out nothing. He pulls his jokes from the humor we all see, he just puts a small twist on it (the part about kids dragging their feet that he did last week, and how he translated that to "Don't you wish we could do that at work?" ). Personally, I think he's the funniest person I've EVER seen on this show. :)

Another Glass fan here. And I used to think Tammy was OK, but after this episode, now I hate her as much as Ant.

I liked Alonzo and Jay, so I'm sad that they allied with Ant and Tammy. :(

I kind of like Glass just because he tries to irritate the hell out of the one group of *******s in house (I originally liked Alonzo and Jay, too, but not after they moved in the Scooby mansion).

I haven't liked Tammy since the beginning of the show, because one of the first times they showed her she was being an arrogant bitch to Corey at their tryout - there was no reason for her to do that. Corey was just goofing around and making small-talk and she was being an ******* to him.

I can't remember who said it, but one of the comics noted that the reason certain people (Ant, Tammy) hate Todd is because he's getting all the attention and they want the attention for themselves.

Which is exactly the point. You don't become a stand up comic unless you're looking for attention. Todd recognizes this in all of them (including himself) and makes fun of it. Bonnie plays along (I loved when she gave him that big sloppy kiss at the Paris). Ant gets pouty. That's why I wish Bonnie had stayed. It's also why I hope Ant makes it to the final 5 (becausehaving him and Todd butt heads in the house is funny TV) but gets the lowest score possible (because he's not that funny, and "Hey everyone, I'm stereotypically gay!" isn't a punchline).

Glass is much more intelligent than some people on the show give him credit for. There is a reason behind almost everything he does.

I tell you, he's this years Rich 'The Don' Vos! Though in a slightly weirder way.

Bonnie was not funny at all. She never deserved to be there on merit in the first place. Apparently the show isn't about being the funniest though. See Dan Naturman (sp?).
Regardless, it appears that eliminations are based upon funny, and Heffron was only about a million times funnier than Bonnie. She got raked over the coals, which I think proves she shouldn't have been there in the first place.

BDLOU 06-24-04 04:56 PM

Ant considers himself like Richard Hatch. He's going around getting gossip and giving it to others. He's trying too hard to win. It's funny to see comedian's together. At first I thought it would be a riot. But most of them aren't really funny. They have no wit. They just have a routine.

Agreed. By voting for Bonnie, he avoided seeming a threat to anyone outside of their little group, and he could explain to Bonnie later why he did it. Unfortunately for her, she took it personally and went after him instead of Ant or Tammy. She blew it.
