Justice for Angel fans?

May this bode well for future Buffyverse-Angel stuff, Spike spin off etc etc

Anyway, I wish it happened 6 months ago, but still great news for now.

Variety has confirmed it also.

They already have though, Joss at Senerity, Tim Minear, Jeffry Bell gone to Alias, David B starts a film Mr Fix it.

If there was a hope in hell, it would be a 12 episode thing from February.

Ok another bit of news from Broadcasting & Cable Magazine;
"Levin Jumps from The WB
By Paige Albiniak -- Broadcasting & Cable, 6/14/2004 3:28:00 PM

Jordan Levin, CEO of The WB Television Network, has left the network. Garth Ancier, who was chairman, now takes over sole control.
Ancier will bring in a president of entertainment to run prime time and Kids WB! programming. Bruce Rosenblum. executive VP, Warner Bros. Television Group, will continue to have day-to-day operational responsibility for the network, according to the company.
Levin will have a multiyear production deal at WB parent Warner Bros. He was promoted to co-CEO last fall and became CEO when Jamie Kellner retired last May. That would likely leave more than two years left on his contract.
Warner Bros. Entertainment Chairman/CEO Barry Meyer had recently asked Ancier to be sole number one, asking Levin to return to his former post as president of entertainment, but Levin declined.
The WB is coming off a tough year, down by double-digits in some key demos.

No - don't save the show, let Tim Minear and Jeffrey Bell go to ALIAS. :D

I doubt that Levin leaving earlier could have saved Angel, since I always got the impression that even though he's the one that ultimately canned it, he was also responsible for the show being kept around for five years. Who's to say that any of the other WB executives would've been friendlier to Angel? Garth Ancier? Please.

edit: (from that article I linked)

But Freaks and Geeks' great strength, its realism, was also its Achilles' heel. When NBC did appoint a programming director—the preppy Garth Ancier, who would go down in infamy among the show's fans, and go on to run the WB—word filtered down to producer Judd Apatow that the executive was bewildered by Freaks and Geeks' worm's-eye view of life at a blue-collar public school. For Ancier, it seems, television served not to reflect reality, or intensify it, but to offer ways in which we might escape it: "He would like the kids to have more victories," Apatow wrote, in a show diary published in the Los Angeles Times. "I tell him the point of the program is to show how our characters survive the obstacles of high school with their compassion and sense of humor intact." Somehow, Apatow failed to get his point across: "I just want the work to be truthful," he continued. "Why do you want it to be truthful?" Ancier is supposed to have replied. "It's TV."
