Is USA's "Dead Zone" worth watching

Never seen an episode, but see where Season 3 starts real soon. Worth a watch? Have found USA's "Touching Evil" and "Monk" to be worthy, so somewhat optimistic.

To give you an idea of shows I watch: Alias, Las Vegas, 24, Gilmore Girls, The Shield, West Wing, Without A Trace, Joan of Arcadia, etc...

I really like Dead Zone, great show.

Based on what I've read the third season is going to focus on, it may be difficult to get into the show right off the bat. But, I enjoy the show quite a bit and guess you shouldn't have much problem filling in the backstory after several episodes.

Yes, it's enjoyable. It's not as good as the other shows you've listed, but it is often creative and unique and has a decent overarcing concept. If you are to watch, though, I agree that it might be tough to just jump in at Season 3.

Good show!

Anthony Michael Hall continues to surprise me by how good of an actor he is in this show. I really enjoy it.

Absolutely...Michael Pillar (Deep Space Nine) and his son are the producers of this show and they've done a great job with it. I've only seen the first season (season two coming to my house on DVD as I write this), but it's better-than-average TV. I'm surprised it doesn't have a bigger following. It's certainly better than most other genre shows on TV right now (i.e. Enterprise, Smallville, etc.)

it has Nicole Deboer doesn't it?
that would almost be enough to make me watch

I never miss it. The quality of acting is much higher than most shows.

Anthony Michael Hall is slated to be at Dragon Con this year. I wonder what kind of crowd he'll draw (I can't imagine it topping the nuttiness that was James Marsters' fanbase).

My thoughts exactly. It isn't the best show on television but definately worth your time. AMH really is great in the role. It also has one of the coolest "big reveals" ever IMHO at the end of s1. Just an awesome visual.

So Touching Evil is better than DZ? I guess I need to give that show a try.

I've only seen a few epidoses of season one, but I am so tempted to buy both seasons right now since you can have both for less than $50 at DDD.

Although I loved the SI cliffhanger, the continual buildup over several episodes for the S2 cliffhanger was much better.

Touching Evil sucks, IMO. Granted I've only seen 5 episodes, but that was more than enough to turn me away.

sounds like saving these to Tivo and renting the season 1 and 2 discs is the way to go here, no?

I'd save if you have the space to keep them until you catch up, then yes: that's the way to go. :)

Season one was good but season two is great. Reminds me of early Xfiles or sometimes the Twilight Zone.
