Just Watched Both Alias Season Sets

I actually thought I'd hate the show, but I don't.

The show, albeit more than somewhat predictable at times, really hit a chord with me. Whether it was the more than leaning towards Sci-Fi Rambaldi stuff to the weird tweak on the common family dynamic that the Bristows have, I was very enthralled. Much more so than the average show on TV nowadays.

Now, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Season Three, but I can say that from the first two seasons, all I know is that, besides Will, there's no character I don't like. I like Mitchell, the quirky, flitting mind of Q, I'm really not SO interested in Sydney, (Her ass-kicking is somewhat embellished, I'm sure, and at times she just seems so...whiny.) but I like her father. I kinda like Vaughn. And Syd's mom? Well, let's just say that she is the physical emodiment of the acronym MILF. I'd shag her three ways to Sunday. I especially like the veins on her temples...make me feel like I'm rockin' alien box. Well, that's just me...see, the first porn mag I ever saw was one called Fantasies or something and there was one section where this dude got abducted by a nekkid blue alien humanoid and.....well, I'll make a Mature thread.

Anyway, some questions:

1) Who else thinks Rambaldi is a time-traveller? I do. All evidence points to that.

2) Does Tarantino ever come back? Hope so.

3) Are Vaughn and Sydney related? I thought maybe Vaughn's dad impregnated her mom, making them half-siblings. Just a guess.

Thanks, kiddies. I mostly stick to Other, but after seeing this for the last two weeks, I had to give some feedback.

See ya!

[edited to correct minor punctuation errors and the word 'entralled' needed to be changed to 'enthralled'. I don't know what the hell entralled (albeit a cool-sounding word) would mean.]

Welcome to TV Talk. Believe it or not, things are MUCH friendlier in here. However, post a spoiler withOUT spoiler tags -- whoo boy.

Anyways...glad you enjoyed it, but i'm not too sure you'll enjoy season three as much. For me, the show started its downward slope after the Super Bowl "reset". [the one that begins with Syd strolling through an airplane in two different coloured swimsuits].

Yes, Marshall kicks ass. Yes, Jack kicks MUCH ass. Glad to see you're on the fence about Vaughn. You'll get pushed over on the "God, he is a *****" side during the third season.

1. Haven't really thought about that. There's not as much Rambaldi during the third season as there was during the first two.

2. Yep.

3. That'll probably be the season ending cliffhanger for next season. [which doesn't begin until January...]

Oh, and Season Two is the last you'll see of Syd's mom. So cherish those appearances...

Glad to see a response so soon. I guess I don't know how to respond on yer Vaughn feelings, as, try as I may, I can't think of a five letter swear word.

Which seems strange. I'm usually pretty proficient in the foul-tongued arts.....

Then you are lucky because Will only appears once in Season3.

Spoiler:
Obviously you haven't read any interviews with her from Entertainment Weekly!

DarkestPhoenix - do you REALLY want things spoiled for you? Season 3 was actually a lot of fun... the problem was that it was aired VERY sporadically. I watched the DVDs very consistently, caught up, then started watching the first third of the season from Tivo. After all that, it was lame trying to figure out when to expect a new episode. The GOOD news is that the DVD set of season 3 should be released well before season 4 kicks off in January!

Pshaw. I'm not too worried about things being spoiled. It's hard to spoil things any worse than they do by looking on the back of the DVD cases.

Have you seen these descriptions??? It's ridiculous sometimes. Example: Episode 7, Season 2 left me wondering what would happen to Sloane. (Sark kidnapped him in exchange for the virus antidote) I look on the DVD Case for a synopsis, and it tells me right there that Sark makes an alliance with SD-6.

Admittedly, these overviews aren't nearly as bad as they were in Season 1, but a guy really could almost read the backs and call it a day.

I'm not too big on the sporadic airings, as you say. X-Files did the same thing a few years. I'll end up watching three like I did one and two, but I was just wondering about my theories.

I don't know...but I think the Rambaldi/John Titor element could make for some interesting stuff in the future. After all, there was that one guy in Season 1 who was alluded to being hundreds of years old.

I saw most of the second season and all of the third on TV. Haven't seen any of the first season. Can't wait to get the box sets.

How Alias: Season 3 Changed My Life

Okay, not really.

Interesting to go back and read this again. Season 3 wasn't as good as the first two, but it wasn't bad. I've been re-watching most of the episodes with my friend, who hadn't watched before. I was wondering, though...what are these Entertainment Weekly/Lena Olin interviews I've heard of???

I think Rambaldi the Time Traveller is more true, now, with Marshall as Rambaldi. Actually, I know that's a pipe dream, but it's mine.

Who is the new person to 'bring forth' Rambaldi's works? It has to be Syd's sister, considering
Spoiler:
Mommy is 'dead'.

The first episode of the new season is such a cop-out from the finale. Pshaw.

I'm not sure what he was talking about either. Perhaps they reported that JJ was trying/in talks to get her back? [They were.]

re: Lena

According to THIS
Spoiler:
6/14 - Any chance we we'll see Lena on Alias? None. She's done, done, done. The producers keep trying but I've heard she said she's never coming back. Source: Kristin on E!Online

Be careful if you click that link. There are MAJOR spoilers for a LOT of the new season. I had to do my best to tiptoe through to find this. Now, i'm not sure how reliable Kristin on E! is, so take it for what you will.
