West Wing - Season Finale 5/19/04

What does no one want to review the finale? Or is everyone in shock from the ending?

for me, it was ok but not great like the first season or even as good as last season. unless the world ends, donna shold be ok and who knows if we will get a resolution to the middle east plot? after all, i don't think we ever really found out who kidnapped zoe did we?

I thought it was pretty good. Bummer for Josh seeing journalist guy with Donna though.

Great moment when Bartlett was practicing his pitch down the upstairs hallway.

I thought it was a good episode, but for a West Wing season finale it was kind of a letdown. Granted, they were trying to setup a cliffhanger but I didn't think it was as satisfying as any of the other season finales so far.

Another thing, most season finales of The West Wing end with some great song playing through the concluding moments. In season two we got Brothers in Arms, season three that stirring rendition of Hallelugiah, etc. In this, nothing. Sure, it was cool seeing the President throw out a pitch but they could have had least added in some baseball song (maybe "Center Field").

I thought it was a solid episode, but again for the season finale it wasn't as great as the previous. I do agree, Josh looked pretty sad about seeing Captain Hook (I mean Jason Isaccs, sorry, just watched Peter Pan) kissing Donna.

It was ok. I really enjoyed the flashbacks sequences contrasting Bartlett and Leo's evolving relationship. Practicing the pitching was pretty funny.

Once again Josh can't be anywhere near blood which is comical and the look on his face when the reporter guy was there got me a bit choked up. Sorkin always said Josh and Donna wouldn't get together as long as he was there but now that's he's gone who knows.

Not the best season ender, but a good episode nonetheless.

David Chase should use this episode to see how dream / flashback sequences SHOULD be done

I was disappointed. I didn't think a cliffhanger should revolve around what happens to a mid-level staffer.

If you want to see West Wing at it's best, S2 was released on DVD this week.

I thought it was slow paced and set up too many "cliffhangers" while resolving nothing, We don't know if
1) Donna's OK
2) Jeb will authorize retaliatory strike
3) Outcome of Palestinian trickery on the "secret negotiations" on which Jeb got "owned."
4) Hell, we don't even know if his pitch worked out.

Sure we do. Didn't you hear the smack of the ball against leather? Bartlett sent that baby right down the middle.

Yeah. When I saw her, she looked like her, but a lot skinnier so I assumed it was someone else. But her name came up in the credits, so it was her.
