WTF was I thinking? The song was I'm Not Like Everybody Else, not Destroyer, by the Kinks

I've enjoyed the last 3 episodes! I think at a minimum, Johnny's Mazerati will be swimming with the fishes...

Originally posted by DVD Josh After reading your negative comments from week to week, I've come to believe that you do not understand what this show is about. It is a FAMILY DRAMA where the main character just happens to be a mob boss and has two familes, one of which is the mafia. Once you come to realize that, the episodes are much better. If I expected every episode to be Goodfellas, I'd be disappointed as well. |
Originally posted by EPKJ No, this is a mob drama. It is not a family drama. Without the mob element it would have no audience at all. You are the one who does not understand what the series is about. This is especially obvious since you cannot tell how bad the show has become since season three. |
Originally posted by Charlie Goose Sorry, that comment is in every single Sopranos thread and it just doesn't wash anymore. With only 13 episodes after a 15 month hiatus, we expect compelling storylines. Nobody is looking for whackings and other violence every single week, but wasting entire episodes on Janice's tantrums, Vito's sexuality, and Tony's dead father's mistress is ridiculous. Yes, we know Tony has mother issues. Yes, we know Tony has impulse control issues. Yes, we know Tony is an a-hole just for the sake of it. This has been established since the very first episode. They introduced half a dozen major new characters this season and have done nothing with any of them except Tony B. |

Originally posted by DVD Josh IMHO, much of the problems with this season may have to do with the series being extended past this season. It seems that this season just is a setup for a bloodbath of a short S6, which wouldn't make me happier either. Many of these episodes just seem like filler for a grand exit. I still think it's a good show, but I've given up on hoping that it "goes anywhere", because it's not going to this year. It's all just setup in my mind. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the season ended with an attempt on Tony's life and the season ends with Tony in the hospital recovering in a coma and the rest of the family trying to figure out what went down and who's to blame (the Who Shot Tony Sorprano? storyline) throughout most of S6. |

Originally posted by EPKJ So now you admit that the series is going nowhere this season, and that many of the episodes are filler? You obviously are a hypocrite who mindlessly defends this show no matter what. Your words speak for themselves. Where did he argue differently? He initially said that you were missing the point as to the theme of the show. A few of his other posts stated he considred S1-S2 to be much better television. I'm not seeing any of his posts where he argued that S4 & S5 were as good or compelling as the early seasons. Filler or not...one can still enjoy them. It's obviously compelling enough to keep you haters watching. If you don't like it so much and it gives you so much anger then change the ****ing channel. |

The next person who responds to a legitimate critizism of this show with "ITS A FAMILY DRAMA" should be banned.

Well a day later and after watching the episode twice, I still think it made for a good hour of TV.
They are definatly building Christopher to be the "smarter then we think" character. By him showing restraint and just walking away. Like Tony talked about the "old school" way of things. Which reminds me the "Revenge is like serving cold cuts" instead of "Revenge is a dish best served cold" was classic. Tony's obviously not a Star Trek fan. I definatly am waiting for Johnny Sack to just loose his f//king mind and start an all out war. Which may or may not be building. I mean, come on now, every preview of the next weeks episode hints at someone getting wacked or has a line like, "Someone's got to go..." I'm at a wait and see basis with that. Janice getting tackled was awsome. Same with Tony throwing shots at her in the ending. I guess my only real complaint with the season is not utilizing some great charaters & stories. Aside from Tony B. who I'm not a huge fan of anyway. I was really hoping for more Robert Logia & Frank Vincent, those IMO are two guys that do a great job at what they do. And for damn sure there's been way to little of Paulie & Silvio. Adriana's FBI thing seems to be getting swept under the carpet too. However Christopher did mention suicide infront of her last night... That's twice it's been brought up around Adriana (Rosalie talking to her outside about Judas on the "Rat Pack" episode). They could be hinting at that. That's about it, for the most part I'm enjoying the season. I'm looking at it like, I've enjoyed more episodes then I haven't so to me it's a good season. We could all wish and hope for more, but I say take what they give you and enjoy it... It's only 1 hour a week. |
I always considered Tony a real ******* who had a very slim chance at redemption. After this episode I realize that he has no chance, and that his character should die before the series ends.

I took the time to read his postings which is a helluva lot more than you seemed to do. You just want to rattle off ****ing snide personal attacks.
If the seaons are so "pathetic" why the hell are you watching? A person of your intellect should be able to ask and answer such a simple question of one's self. |
why does nobody complain about the several episodes in season 1 and 2 about directly related to Tony's mother. many of those, i didn't really care for as well. and aren't Silvio and Paulie background characters. they seem to mostly just have a couple of lines and a one liner. i also think that chase will create several more characters next season as well.

I can't wait for next week. I must be one of the few that has enjoyed this season so far.
The Carmella slo-mo scene was terrible, though. |

EPKJ, you need to tone down your style of posting or you'll be suspended. Don't turn a discussion about a TV show into casting aspersions about people's intelligence.
