I'm not sure I agree with a deviation from the season-long storyline in the last month, but this one could be interesting.

I'm kinda getting sick of the Xindi story line, hurry up and destroy the weapon and all be friends.

They need some fresh idea's. Archer character needs tuning, Scott Bakula doesn't play the tough guy well

Of all the Star Trek captains, Archer seems to be one of the toughest. I just don't see the past shows captains beaming onto a ship and stealing another race's warp coils in order to get the mission completed. I can just picture Picard saying they won't do it and Earth will get destroyed because stealing a warp drive will make them loose 'what it means to be human' or some crap like that. I remember Janeway not getting technology that would have gotten Voyager home just because it violated a Starfleet officer's 'ethics'.

Archer's warp theft bumped up my respect for him a few notches.

Yoda-T'Pol Rules!

Just finished watching the episode. It was alright but I didn't like it that much.

The problem with this episode was that the storyline was so similar to a Star Trek: TNG show where the Enterprise encounters Enterprise C. It was not very original... that was my beef about it.

forgot that one. i thought it was dumb how they were never able to settle down. I don't buy it that a few generations can live on the same ship and never settle down anywhere. At the second or third generation you stop caring what happened to the previous ones.

As I said in last week's thread, not original at all but not a bad episode. Small time-line question though: if Archer and crew get back to earth and their logs become part of Starfleet history, does this mean that Spock is no longer the first human/vulcan offspring? If the writers keep going with the Trip/T'Pol relationship that could be the case. Poor Reed, the everlasting bachelor. I'm guessing slash writers will have a ball with that one.

resinrats I gotta disagree with your Archer assessment though. I'm thinking Sisko would make the same decision I just think Brooks would have pulled it off a bit more convincingly.

Yes - Sisko would definitely have made the same decision as Archer. The ethical question was analogous to Sisko's decision to lie to the Romulans to get them to declare war on the Dominion. Sisko was great because he could be as much of a tough guy as Archer, but he could also be a very gentle leader when necessary - something Archer has trouble doing.

This week's episode reminded me a lot of the Deep Space Nine episode where they meet their descendents who also exist because their ship got thrown back in time. The DS9 episode was much better, though it's focus was different. It focused on whether they were willing wipe out the life their descendents had created in order to get home safely themselves (as doing so would erase that timeline)

A perfect example of why morons shouldn't write time travel stories.

I've been slightly impressed with the last two episodes of this. I'm actually hoping it makes it another year.

Glad I wasn't the only one that thought Tpol was channeling Yoda

It was never stated that Spock was the first Vulcan/Human offspring.

Yeah, but at least T'Pol and her son, who basically lived a lot of his life with the original crew, are still alive.

As said, this was pretty much DS9 "Children of Time" mixed with a little TNG "Yesterday's Enterprise". Not a bad episode all-in-all, but it was just another side-track episode filling time until the main storyline can move ahead.

One question I had last week and still have: why couldn't Degra's ship escort Enterprise through the corridor?

I thought it was, my bad. That's what I get for not watching TOS.

The Digital Bits is just going nuts with this show (and attempts to get it renewed). I guess the guy really likes it, but man... couldn't you pick a better show to throw your weight behind? Angel? Hell, he's complaining louder about Enterprise's possible cancellation than he did about Farscape.

After receiving a flood of calls from the website www.saveenterprise.com. UPN has established a dedicated voice mailbox to handle all Save Star Trek Enterprise calls to UPN.

A UPN representative confirmed that the calls coming in from the website are major! So much that it was decided that the members of saveenterprise.com warranted a dedicated voice mailbox. Therefore, when you call all you need to do is ask the operator for the "SaveEnterprise.com" voicemail and you will be redirected. We were also told by the UPN representative that every message is listened too. Moreover, May 20, 2004 is fast approaching, we need to rally more support for the show as time is of the essence. Everyone needs to call in NOW! Call several times a day, if possible. Our goal is to flood UPN with calls from "SaveEnterprise." Remember, we are going into the closing week we have momentum on our side let us not waste it.

Maybe he didn't like either of those shows. He does like Enterprise however and you can't really blame him to using his position as the head of a popular website to try to promote the show.

looks like I need to admit I was wrong from my comment last week

I like how their transporter is advanced enough to pull components out of their installed positions. It's come a long way in 3 years

It's good to admit when you're wrong.

But yeah, I figured it would deal with the arc, but I also thought it was going to deal with sappy family stuff and I was glad that that wasn't the focus.

I was thinking something similar, but then I realized that transporters weren't new when the show premiered. They had been used for a while for transporting cargo and equipment, but it had only just been cleared for transporting living things.

Very stupid episode.
