I can't believe anyone would defend this Deuchebag Sinclair. I am completely appalled by this, and it exemplifies everything that is wrong with the what the FCC has been doing to encourage people like this to buy up as many stations as they can. Because one man finds this critical of George Bush and the war he started, he has unilaterally decided that no one should see it. It is Orwellian political posturing that everyone, regardless of your opinion on the war, should find frightening. Is this the road we are going down? If the Sinclairs and Murdoch's of the world decide they don't like something for political reasons, then the American People should be deprived of seeing or hearing it on PUBLIC airwaves?

1984 20yrs late.

Yes, I find it scary to say the least- and the American people don't seem to care. I'm afraid once we go down this road there's no turning back.

Watch, Bush admin will be voted right back into office.

Nevermind that Koppel is (apparently) in support of the war. He said as much last night. Facts don't matter when we have political axe's to grind.

That is what is so amazing about this...Koppel is by far one of, if not the, most respected journalists in television. he has never been anything but fair in whatever they cover...and he has vocally supported the war. Sinclair, on the other hand, seems blinded by the political patronage that gave rise to his empire - and he's repaying them by becoming a television dictator based purely on political fanatacism.

he said it himself pretty plainly (to parahprase): "I think this is an attempt to undermine the war in Iraq, and therefore have decided that no one should see it." That reasoning is steeped in nothing more than a desire to protect his political cronies who have helped make him rich....there is nothing about this move that is designed to protect anything or anyone other than this administration from criticism. that is utterly and completely appalling - and is a step towards 1984 that I honestly never thought i'd actually see in this lifetime. Be afraid...be very afraid.

I wonder what his opinion was on airing the pointless dirt in the Starr Report?

After a statement like that the FCC should take away his license, or at least fine him bigtime.

But, since Michael Powell is at the helm...
