Thank god she is gone!
|
I guess I really don't get all the crying and weeping and etc. over seeing a brother or mother after a whole ::gasp:: 30 days. I have 3 brothers and we all live in different states and I haven't seen my parents since Christmas. I would of course be glad to see any of them, but I would not start crying like a little girl. OK, wife, I can see, but brother or mother, just not gettin' it...
Oh, and adios Winner of Rice. |
In the end, lets hope Tom gets out of his going all the way with Rob. If Rob and Amber are smart, they'll snare in Jenna, as she's useless.

Yeah. It's the isolation, starvation and stress of being separated from all things that make them feel comfortable. I think they truly go a bit looney from it.
|
I was hoping Tom would run out of matches.

I am terrible at guessing how things are going to go, but it sure seemed obvious to me that Big Tom's son was going to have a distinct advantage in eating pretty much anything that they put in from of him.
I've been for Jenna all the way, but these last few weeks they've been finally showing her in the unflattering way they hadn't been showing her for most of the show. I can see now why the others are annoyed by her. I don't think she's more annoying than most of the others, they just seem to know to shut up and she doesn't. |

Originally posted by das Monkey Agreed. That's all I could think of. She's so ****ing annoying, and not in that "love to hate her" way, but int the "turn the TV off" kind of way. Sue is a terrible person, but even she's not this annoying. Her unjustified arrogance knew no bounds, constantly stating the obvious as if it were some brilliant revelation that only her massive intellect was able to decipher and pathetically trying to grasp some last ditch amount of control over the game with her whole "I know who's going to win the game" nonsense. Who's the "stupid, stupid player" now? I still don't know why they brought her back for All-Stars unless it had to do with quotas. She did nothing of any real strategic consequence in either of her appearances on this show. Good riddance. I have to assume from the previews for next week that Spoiler:

I know I'm in the minority, but I liked Shii-Ann. She was a little pretentious, but I like rooting for the underdog, which she definetely was.

I missed tonight's episode. Any major shift in alliances that I should know about? Or are Rob/Amber/Rupert/Jenna still look like the final 4?

Surely, Rupert, Tom and what's her name, can take out Rob and Amber... Big Tom or Rupert goes next week and the other the week after that. Rob will pull in Jenna cuz she's the easiest to trust. Then she's gone. I hate to say it, but Rob and Amber are the final two. Looking at it from the outside, there is only one person I would vote for Rob over, and that's Amber. He may not know it, but I think she's the only one that he actually has a chance to beat. Some on the jury will see her as having ridden his coattails the whole way, which she has. He may get votes based on the fact that he actually made a decision or two while playing the game. Sadly, this has become way too predictable. There have been a couple of crossroad points in this game where things could have gotten very interesting. However, everyone in the core group seems to be happy to have the opportunity to finish in the top four. At least Lex took a chance and tried to shake things up. It exploded in his face, but it could just as easily have brought him to the end. |

Alicia, Tom, Jenna and Rupert ARE stupid players for aligning with two people who are obviously dating and ever assuming they'd be chosen as a Final 2 partner by Rob or Amber over each other. Jenna and Rupert may be in an alliance with each other but it isn't as strong as the connection between Rob and Amber. At Final 4, R & A will stick together no matter what, leaving either Jenna or Rupert to have to join them in order to survive to Final 3. It's terrible gameplay. Shii Ann had a very good point about her usefulness within the tribe at that point. Had Jenna and Rupert joined Tom and Shii Ann to boot Rob or Amber, they'd all have a somewhat more equal chance at winning. Too bad everyone in Chapera who isn't Rob and Amber was blinded by their blind loyalty to "the tribe". Burton from Pearl Islands said it best with his speech about not having to like the people in your alliance. As long as you have a mutual interest, you can band together to achieve your goals, longterm or shortterm. Shii Ann isn't suddenly stupid for being voted out. She's known that was coming for days. She earns points with me for doing what countless other Survivors seem to be scared to do for some reason. Laying the cards out on the table and trying to wake up players who seem to be sleeping their way through this game. |
Originally posted by TwineTime I can understand if you don't like Shii Ann. Personally I enjoy her more than the 5 who are left and was happy she was chosen to participate on All-Stars. I'm not alone, as many others feel she was one of the more memorable characters from Thailand and who knows, maybe Mark Burnett felt he owed her a second chance, what with the terrible fake merge twist that screwed her the first time around. What I don't get are your complaints about her stating the obvious. Laying the cards out on the table and trying to wake up players who seem to be sleeping their way through this game. In terms of ppl complainin' that she was flyin' under the radar, several winners won that way (Tina, Vecepia, and Saundra). If you're a girl whose not as athletic as Kelly Wigglesworth, then there's no way that you can try and take an "Alpha Male" type strategy because you simply can't win the physical challenges on a consistent basis. Plus, I gotta root for my Asian ppl. |
Shii Ann calls everyone stupid, and yet she was the only one from the remaining players (when she made the comment) who had played herself into a situation where she was guaranteed to lose the game. You don't see the silliness in that arrogance? Tom, Jenna, and Rupert are now in position to take out Rob/Amber if they want. They've only aligned with them to get to this point, and it was a smart strategy ... because newsflash: they're still playing. Sure, Rob and Amber will likely stick together at 4, but they're not at 4 yet. They're at 5, and not a single one of them needed Shii-Ann to get to that point. Rupert, Tom, and Jenna are now in a position of power, with only 5 people left. That's pretty darn good. Shii-Ann was never once in a position of power. Even when she had immunity, no one cared what she thought.
Everything Shii-Ann said was obvious, and these players know that. The game is played on more complex levels. Sometimes you have to let the threat stay around longer, because it's advantageous. Sometimes you make an alliance with someone you know will stab you in the back, because you know he thinks you're stupid and will keep you around. It's a complex game of "he knows that I know that he knows that I know, but what he doesn't know is ..." Shii-Ann hovered around the obvious gameplay, which isn't a big deal ... what's a big deal is that she thought she was a brilliant strategist and frequently mocked those who were kicking her ass in the game. Alicia, Tom, Jenna, Rupert, and Rob are all pretty annoying people ... yet they learned how to shut their traps and put aside their personal feelings to get further in the game. Shii-Ann never could get off her high horse long enough to respect that the other players might be working an angle she hasn't considered yet, and as such, she never once had a prayer of winning. The "stupid players," however, each have a chance. Something else to consider ... is going to the Final Three with Rob/Amber really that bad an idea? Would Rob really take Amber with him, knowing she'd win the money? Or would he kick her out, knowing that he'd get her vote? I think the latter is a very likely scenario. Again ... good riddance. das |
They should of taken out Rob or Amber, stupid players alright.
|
The theme of this season was summed up best by Rupert's statement to the effect of, "as long as they are not voting for me..."
They will blindly follow the Robfather as long as they believe they will not be getting votes. They all believe they will get to the final three, win immunity, vote out Amber, and win against Rob. I predict that whoever is voted out next week between Tom, Jenna, and Rupert will be blind-sided. That person will believe they are safe until the moment the votes are revealed. I also predict that Rob will win in a landslide because the jury will realize that Rob has been a master at playing them all. It will be a vote of respect for his ability. |

Again ... good riddance. das I'm not necessarily defending SA, I think she is as annoying as anything and really can't shut up. She has in no way been a favorite of mine as she is either flying under the radar or running her mouth. But I still like her for the simple fact that she was the only one that didn't have her head up Rob's butt all the time the past few weeks. She sure is arrogant but at least she has a point to most of the things she says and she seems to be the only one to want to shake things up. Her back is against the wall, she knows she is history, at least she went down fighting. |
Originally posted by Tandem I also predict that Rob will win in a landslide because the jury will realize that Rob has been a master at playing them all. It will be a vote of respect for his ability. Even if Rob makes it to the final 2, which I doubt, Lex, Kathy and Alicia are not going to vote for him. Shi-Ann could, but it depends who the other person is. If it's Rob & Amber in the final 2 then Amber wins easily. Rob screwed too many people while Amber just sat back. If it is R & A then Rupert, Jenna & Tom will have also been screwed by Rob and would not vote for him either. Rob isn't that smart. The other players are just stupid. He's been too vocal (Lex & Kathy) and has too many deals with too many players. I think next week, Rupert, Tom & Jenna realize it's time for Rob or Amber (if Rob wins immunity) to go. |
Is Shii Ann still running her mouth?

I was wondering why none of the visiting relatives warned the others about Rob and Amber..

Originally posted by icondude I was wondering why none of the visiting relatives warned the others about Rob and Amber.. Some questions... I didn't see the original season with Shii-Bangs on it. What did she do on that season to earn the badge of "All Star"? Also, I didn't see Rupert's season either. Everybody talks about how popular he was on that season, but this time around he comes off as a bit of a jerk. What did he do last time that was so endearing? |
At this point, I have no idea who I want to win. Everybody is growing increasingly annoying in their own little fashion.
|
Shii-Ann didn't do anything special in her original season. She was slightly less annoying then as she is now though. Like someone before mentioned, she kind of got screwed though. It was heavily hinted that they were merging, so she "switched sides", as she was in the weaker side of her original tribe. Then they revealed that they weren't actually merging after all. If I remember correctly, the tribes sort of merged - they started living together. But then Jeff announced "I never said this was really a merge" and revealed they were still going to be their 2 separate tribes and would still vote separately. So her original tribe all voted her out since she obviously couldn't be trusted. Then the next week they did a real merge.
Rupert was a mega-jerk during his season. He's much more low-key now. He was a popular guy at first, cause he was kind of wierd and quirky. But he developed a major ego and basically acted like he owned the game/camp, kinda like he is about getting fish now but 10x worse. Some people still liked him till the end, but I got quickly turned off by his attitude. He's playing much smarter this season by not being as high-profile as he was before. |
