I gave 'Bastogne' my #2 spot two years ago, and I haven't changed my mind.

I missed "Bastogne" on the History Channel this time around (I just need to buy the damn DVDs) and I don't remember it well enough to comment.

I did see "Why We Fight" again last night and I just gotta say, wow. Powerful television.

I have a hard time picking just one since I the entire series is excellent, but if I had to pick one that stands on its own the best it would be Day of Days. It has a lot of focus on Winters and Guarnere, my 2 favorite characters in the series, and the evolution of their relationship. Every episode has at least one memorable, moving scene that gives it excellence.

It's been so long since I've seen it, but from what I recall, "Bastogne" left the strongest impression on me.

I can't choose. I can't! It's been too long since I watched it anyway, though I know why Bastogne and Why We Fight are the popular choices. It's really hard to pick favorites from the last half. The whole thing is pretty mind blowing. D-Day was probably my favorite moment from the first half. It was like Saving Private Ryan from the paratroopers' perspective.

The ''11th part", We Stand Alone Together, deserves some props too. When the two soldiers go back some 50 years later to Bastogne and reminiscence......

Can't quite place the episode, but the one with the big tank fights. I think one solider gets his head crushed by one, too. Was that Carenten?

I guess I'm with the majority; I voted for the Bastogne episode too.

Yeah, I chose "Replacements" that had the tank fights between the British Cromwells and Sherman IIIs and the Jadgpanther and Tiger. Loved the shot of the Sherman taking out the German halftrack.

Also the tank battle in Carentan was good.

If we could have voted for multiple episodes I would have picked Ep. III and IV.
