NBC gives "Crossing Jordan" an early renewal for 2004-05 season!

'Crossing Jordan' getting strong ratings

NEW YORK (AP) -- Absence apparently made television viewers fonder of Jill Hennessy and her NBC drama "Crossing Jordan."

The show has been an unexpectedly strong performer for the network since its return to the air March 7. The 14.7 million people who watched last week was well above last season's average of 10.6 million viewers.

NBC rewarded "Crossing Jordan" this week with an early pickup order for a new season.

The drama had gone 10 months without new episodes during Hennessy's maternity leave. She gave birth to a son, Marco, in September.

...A ratings point represents 1,084,000 households, or 1 percent of the nation's estimated 108.4 million TV homes. The share is the percentage of in-use televisions tuned to a given show.
Great news!

... and I thought it was going to get lost on Sunday nights.

Cool. Hopefully they'll add 7 more new characters before then.

I have been enjoying it since its return - I like how they are using the whole cast even more than they did before instead of focusing on Jordan so much.

Good news.

Yeah, I couldn't stand the plot with her mother's death. They wasted way too many episodes on that during the first two seasons.

What surprises me is how I don't mind Jerry O'Connell on this show at all - he's actually pretty decent, imo. It's just a well-rounded cast. Even Ivan Sergei fits in.

The other day I watched the first episode of the new season, the one w/out Jordan in it, and I thought it was great - particularly Macy when he decked the leader of the nuclear response unit.

Miguel Ferrier has a great, haunting, commanding voice for such a little guy.

When he was the voice of Kahn in Mulan wasn't suprised.

I never really watched this show, but I have started watching it since it came back a few weeks ago so I missed the whole mother death thing. but I've read bits and pieces that indicate a major plot line was just dropped with no resolution like it never happened. is that right?
if so it can be easily explained. Quinn simply slid to another dimension

It's always just a little south of being a really good show. It's OK but it never seems to live up to its potential.
