Ted McGinley on Dateline NBC (3/28)

Did anybody watch Dateline NBC tonight?

The second story they aired was if shows with Ted McGinley "jump the shark" when he shows up on them.

I was walking past the living room when my mom was waiting for an Aerosmith segment on Dateline NBC when all I heard was: "Coming up next on Dateline NBC... does Ted McGinley really kill the shows he appears on?" From that moment, I sat down on the couch waiting for the segment.

Ted said when he looked at the "Jump the Shark" website that it really hurt his feelings.

"I don't think I kill shows. I think I make shows stay on the air longer than they would have."

In Ted's defense, Married With Children was better with Jefferson rather than Steve.

My sister was going to UofA when they filmed the first Revenge of the Nerds and she told me that Ted was a crass and arrogant pig who tried to hit on her.

Is that Kelly Ripa show dead with him on it?

Also, why does he have this reputation when Married With Children stayed on forever? Wasn't he on that show for most of its run?

Ah, that's just stupid. MWC was on for about six seasons after he came on. He had four years on "Happy Days" and two on "The Love Boat", and both of those shows were ancient by the time he arrived.

I agree that he was much better than Steve in MWC.

As much as I like to kid about Ted, the guy's right. He gets dragged onto shows that, for the most part, are on their death beds. That isn't his fault.

I thought he did a good job on Sports Night as well, playing Casey's "nemesis". The show went on for an entire season without him too.

Too bad his appearance on Dateline won't result in its cancellation.

That has to be the worst newsmagazine not called 48 Hours.

Maybe he was just "in character"?

So I take it your sister was a Pi and not an Omega Mu? ;)

Not to mention that he also appeared on about a third of Sports Night's first season and also had a brief stint on West Wing.
