The OC 03/24/04

I haven't seen a thread on this yet, and since it is airing tonight, I figured that I would start one, especially since I saw it a couple of days ago  It is spoilered for a reason, so don't read if you don't want to know!

Spoiler:
Pretty good episode, especially Haley in her dancing gear. I thought that it was pretty cute when Summer and Seth were talking about how awkward it would be to date someone you are a part of a show with, especially if you break up (as I mentioned in a thread a few months ago, Seth and Summer are going out in real life - at least they were. Can anyone confirm if they are still together?

Spoiler:
The other big thing is at the end, Marissa finds out about Luke nailing her mother. Couldn't see that coming a mile away

mrpayroll 03-24-04 05:01 PM

Did you already get to see it, since you are in Canada?

Chris

movieking 03-24-04 06:56 PM

Indeed. It airs Mondays in Canada.

"The L.A.", Episode #122.

What did Ryan just say before they cut to the intro?

Doughboy 03-24-04 08:06 PM

I thought it was a great episode. I liked how they were having fun with the real life behind-the-scenes activities of certain cast members. Also, the opening teaser was classic.

What did Ryan just say before they cut to the intro?
He said something like "it didn't even last the night" in reference to Ryan's angst-free week. :)

B.A. 03-24-04 08:17 PM

Thanks, Doughboy.

MrX 03-24-04 09:05 PM

Good episode.

The stuff with at the end with Summer talking about the two castmates dating was funny with all the rumors about the actual cast.

The Valley stuff would be better if they made actual clips of the show instead of just the voices.

People need to stop giving Paris Hilton guest starring roles.

Geofferson 03-24-04 09:06 PM

Good to have this show back. Solid episode tonight though I agree with Paris Hilton - enough of her already.

deadlax 03-24-04 09:35 PM

who was paris hilton playing? grad school-it couldn't have been herself.

Patman 03-24-04 09:37 PM

Fun episode, lots of good laughs and humor, though it ended on a painful note. Did Hailey always have that big bump on her nose's profile?

spainlinx0 03-24-04 09:48 PM

I was actually hoping for Julie and Luke to get away scot free, but I guess then it woudn't be TV. Of course as soon as he knocked on the door I knew what would happen.

Still, it was a very enjoyable episode, and Hailey looked hot even coked up.

Red Dog 03-24-04 10:12 PM

Great episode. Thought we might get another fistfight with Ryan and the bouncer, but oh well.

 I thought he would sneak in a shot, too, at least after Jimmy got there.

Fantastic ep - glad to see the return of Hayley.

Ryan and Seth's reaction to seeing Luke/Julie at the Mermaid Inn was a great intro to the show.

Summer and Seth - entertaining as always.

Mischa Barton's acting wasn't that bad for once. She looked okay, too. BUT she still has some ways to go to catch up w/ Rachel Bilson.

Glad to see that Luke/Julie's secret was finally let out of the bag to her daughter - you knew it would happen, might as well get the whole thing over w/.

This show has a good sense of humor about. Good to see the show mock itself a little.

I liked how Seth and Summer were talking about how dating costars was a bad idea. I also liked how Ryan joked about how the guy could play a high school student. The show is so greeat becuase it makes fun of itself likie B.A. said.

mrpayroll 03-25-04 12:17 AM

Now what's up with Marissa next week? Why would she go there?

I tell you, the adult characters to me are the most fun to watch. The things they say are just hilarious.

Jimmy had a great line to the night club owner when he called him "daddy". He said something to the effect of him being a guy his age still trying to act like a 25-year-old. Jimmy!

greyboy 03-25-04 10:07 AM

yeah, I enjoyed last night too.....missed the damn part with Paris though....ARG!

So that character and her fiancee could stay involved in the show - oh, you mean why in real life? got me.

Red Dog 03-25-04 12:27 PM

BTW, it hardly seemed that Hayley was a stripper. More like a go-go dancer like you would commonly find in such Hollywood clubs.

B.A. 03-25-04 12:33 PM

No kidding - why couldn't they just call her a go-go dancer? That was kind of dumb...

tofu 03-25-04 12:37 PM

The conversation about TV seth vs. the real Seth was great. Best part.

Patman 03-25-04 01:02 PM

Julie is such a tramp. It wasn't 2 seconds after Luke breaks up with her that she's on the cell phone calling Caleb (probably for a booty call).

The self-referential stuff about the show was funny. How many other shows would satire themselves so early in their run?

I LOL'd when Summer got slotted in the "Bitch" role by default in their little gang.
