I didn't know Schindler's List was shown uncut.

Good point.

they darkened the nudity for schindlers list

immortal1 03-29-04 01:36 PM

I heard that 30 min. of never before seen footage is going to be shown also. I wonder what the new footage is of.

Heard that as well....i guess they're yankin out a couple of the extremely graphic scenes and any nudity. I look forward to the new footage though, that should be fun.

I'd fogotten how bad an officer Schwimmer's character was

Slowpc 04-11-04 09:10 PM

Been on the fence for getting this set (want to grab the R4 import with the interesting extras) and have never seen the whole thing, so i guess my replayTV will be keeping me up to date and i will prob just end up getting the set.

Back to watching History Channel.

Hubcap 04-11-04 09:29 PM

bought it blind and loved it. Watched the entire set in like 3 days it was soooo good.

Rypro 525 04-11-04 10:42 PM

so was any bad language cut? i know the first episode had no war scene's in them.

kevin75 04-11-04 11:59 PM

interestingly enough, i just got done watching this earlier tonight. i have had the tin laying around for awhile and had never gotten around to watching it so i popped it in this weekend. WOW!!! i had watched a few episodes on HBO when it was orginallyl on but got sidetracked and lost it. i think watching it all at once helped too as opposed to having to wait a week (for HBO).

mikehunt 04-12-04 12:36 AM

f***ing became freaking
but bullshit was there in all its glory

immortal1 04-14-04 04:55 PM

I thought even though with the minor language changes none of the emotion or authenticity was lost. I'll be watching again tonight.

renaldow 04-15-04 09:14 AM

I watched the 2 first episodes, got angry that I had to wait a day for each following episode, went out and got the box set and watched the next 8 in the last 2 days.

Very good series.

immortal1 04-15-04 04:23 PM

Personally, I'm able to delay my gratification and wait till the next night. I might get the DVD set after I'm done watching it on tv though.

Rypro 525 04-15-04 10:26 PM

are there graphic violence edits?

mikehunt 04-15-04 11:09 PM

I haven't noticed any cuts for violence, but it's been a while since i've watched the dvds

Holy shit, I totally forgot Jimmy Fallon (yes the one from SNL) was in this. He was on tonight

djbrown 04-16-04 09:09 AM

Just an FYI, but those that are relying on a PVR to catch the airings should be aware that the documentary "We Stand Alone Together" will NOT be picked up by Season Passes and the like.

It airs on Saturday night.

immortal1 04-16-04 11:45 AM

Jimmy Fallon was awesome. What a great role for him.

mikehunt 04-16-04 12:10 PM

yeah. nice to see him not reading cue cards at cracking up during a performance

immortal1 04-19-04 10:03 AM

Why we fight has to be my favorite episode. Very powerful stuff.

Anyone else have a favorite ep?

How can you pick just one? ;)

bdshort 04-19-04 10:24 AM

Probably "The Breaking Point", though I think "Points" is the one that chokes me up the most (at the end).

I think I should break out my DVD set and start watching this again. Best war film ever, IMO.

Brian

Rypro 525 04-19-04 11:35 AM

oh and the violence is edited. the strong explicit gore is black and there aren't any explict close ups on the history channel version. and its TV-14-LV, while the hbo version is TV-MA-LV
