Um, wow, nice jab there. I am not a fan of Heston's or Woods acting or political aspirations, so way to assume. -ohbfrank-

I have no problem with Penn speaking his mind. However, when he makes disparaging remarks about the Oscars and the Academy, the very same people who vote you in, you deserve nothing.

I wonder if the EE of ROTK will include footage and/or a documentary leading up to the Oscars?

SirPablo 02-29-04 11:09 PM

You guys can watch the live stream from the backstage too off of www.oscars.com...

Poor Bill...he's done so much over the years, he deserved it. Maybe I'll watch one of his movies now in his honor :)

I imagine they will have Oscar clips . . . maybe as Easter Eggs (Like the MTV awards)

Patman 02-29-04 11:10 PM

I guess maybe Peter Jackson will followup with "The Return of King Kong"

This kind of doesn't have anything to do with this years awards but i figure this is the time to ask it, does anyone know how close there ever was to a tie in the voting and what happens if there is?

mikewendt 02-29-04 11:11 PM

Bill was thinking about fighting Sean Penn, but reconsidered and just bitchslapped Billy Crystal...

They give it to the least deserving nominee, they did tonight with the actors anyway.

Thanks for the recap Calculon.

Anyways, I'd like to see that Bellville movie, it looks damn interesting.

The Antipodean 02-29-04 11:16 PM

Geez, great awards this year but what a boring show IMHO. Absolutely no surprises except perhaps the Blake Edwards bit. Borrrrring.

Patman 02-29-04 11:21 PM

Sophia Coppola has that weird Billy Idol sneer going on.

Fixed.

Patman 02-29-04 11:24 PM

Listening to Sophia write LiT, I hope no one takes her style of writing a screenplay to heart:

Start the beginning, find an ending, and just write a bunch of stuff to fill in the middle to make it long enough for a feature film.

Static Cling 02-29-04 11:26 PM

Closing for length. If you want to continue talking about the Oscars, please do so in the thread in Movie Talk:
