The O.C. 02/25/04

Hey, where are all you Canadians to give me a heads up on what happens in this episode? Are you all still [expletive cleaned up]pee-pee'd[/expletive cleaned up] off at us Americans because of Conan O'Brien?

C'mon, I gots to know.

Well, it may not be to you, Mr. Potty-mouth, but I don't want to offend our Canadian neighbors since I am asking them for info on my favorite show, The O.C.

Most Canadians found it funny, unless you are from Quebec or a politician. They are getting back on track in this episode.

I couldn't care less about Conan, but having people tell me which show I apparently didn't just watch was kinda annoying.

The episode was pretty average, nothing too exciting going on. They hinted at things but nothing really happened.

Agreed. Just got a chance to watch it on tape. Nothing much happens, although the Summer/Seth storyline is better than the rest. It is a a show that furthers along some storylines that will explode in the next couple of episodes.

I thought it was a good episode, average I guess, but average for the OC is pretty good. Some great lines by Seth, especially the whole Spainish sopa opera stuff. Next week looks to have some serious payoff for this week.

Spoiler:
Anna going back to Pittsburgh, I'm betting she'll be back though.

Love rhombus

The Cohen family were the stars of the show again. Seth going on strike was great.

So so episode but it looks like next week will be good. I wonder if Seth is leaving Summer for good or just wanting Anna to stay as a friend. The whole Seth on strike thing was hilarious.

"And Luke, this is a booty call." - That was freaking awesome.

And Caleb realizing he was on a booty call after Julie shut the door on him was hilarious, too.

The Cohen family did rule the roost again, particularly when all three were talking about Ryan, handle-bar mustaches and hispanic soap operas.

This ep did lack the prerequisite fist-fight or gun-play. It had at least two opportunities to display such acts of violence, too. It's getting in somewhat of a dry-spell in terms of the fisticuffs. I'm sure that won't last for long.

I like how Seth went on strike against Summer and held firm even when he wouldn't have been a scab. The way he finally ended the strike was good, too.

If Anna leaves, I don't think she will be gone for long. Her and Seth will eventually wind up together.

No Hayley this week.

On a side note - Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan) was just on Letterman and he confessed to never having been to Orange County. I just thought everyone would sleep better knowing that.

Not much happened, but I liked it. Good comedy, nothing too serious going on. Just fun to watch.

He's also around 25 years old, while Mischa Barton is close to the age she plays on the show.

LOL @ Caleb's attempted booty call.

Seth and Summer are so cute together and apart.

Ryan is burning the candle on both ends.

Julie is going to get busted at the motel sooner or later since Teresa lives next door to her booty call room. Luke is living every high school boy's dream.

Sandy's ethics will be stretched, thanks to Caleb getting Kirsten involved with his greasing and spying on competitors.

Only Seth can work "rhombus" in an episode and not sound like he's trying too hard.

One nitpick. Apparently Newport is such a great place to work that you can have a low-end job, but still make enough to stay in an 80 dollar a night hotel. How exactly does that work?

I'm assuming you get some kind of discount if you are paying weekly or monthly. I got the impression that Teresa had no money for food, that she was spending it all on the room. And that the whole "I have to work because my mom needs the money" story was just a cover for getting away from Eddie.

When was there another "The Valley" reference? I must have missed it.

I just think it's funny that Ryan all of a sudden is in love with Theresa and he hadn't even brought her up or mentioned her before...and now he doesn't want her to leave. It's annoying I think. The whole Seth/Summer thing was great. And the preview for next week may just be a ruse with Seth running after Anna and such....hopefully!

My only gripe about this show is how old the "kids" look. Theresa has to be the worst now. She looks like shes in her 30s. Can they not find actual teenagers to act nowadays? I'm fine with early 20s, but its starting to get rediculous when Theresa looks older than Mrs. Cooper.

I was also surprised to hear that he has a Foreign Affairs degree in addition to an Economics degree from UVA.

It has always been this way with shows centered around teens. Look at 90210.

Although I think Anna will be back (I predicted she would leave and Seth would be none too happy), I don't think Seth and her will ever be more than friends. Going by the preview, I'm going to guess that Seth just realizes how great of a friend she is, his best next to Summer and Ryan. No one likes to lose a best friend, and Anna is always there to help Seth out, he probably realizes that he needs her.

Does a lot of that have to do w/ child labor laws, school tutors, etc.?
