Yup, William Hung has his own little cult following now ans is reaping the rewards of being bounced from the American Idol show during the auditions.

A few quick points of interest:

* The Associated Press reported late Tuesday that William Hung, the UC Berkeley engineering student who became a pop-culture phenomenon after being bounced rather icily from an "American Idol" audition, will be awarded a $25,000 check from the Fuse music channel on Wednesday, and a record deal from Koch Entertainment.

* A remix of his song with music track is avaiable here.

* He's been in Star Magazine, on The Early Show, on The Ellen Show and Access Hollywood.

* Fox has announced that he will appear on the final episode of American Idol for a special performance!

Talk about your 15 minutes of Fame!

i think hung is pulling an andy kaufman esque duping of the american populous. from the olbermann interview you have to assume he's ****ing with everyone.

Everyone that loses on American Idol always ends up winning in the long run. Clay lost to Ruben, and he's more popular then him now. Justin whatshisface got a record deal when he lost to Kelly Clarkson. That black girl that got booted last year got a record deal.

On one of the entertainment programs, they said Willie was going to get a special surprise. I thought Ricky would show up for the performance. HA!

And that contract fell through I do believe...

He did release an album...but sold only about 135,000 copies. Yikes!

Kelly Clarkson - over 2 million
Clay Aiken - over 2 million
Ruben Studdard - over 1 million, but still in the top 20

Oh, I'm also beginning to really hate William Hung.

Sorry to get O.T. a little here, but even more telling is this:
Didn't Studdard win American Idol last year?? Seems Aiken is the one reaping all the awards.
