anyone catch Ellen today?

William Hung was on, sang THREE songs by himself and one with Ellen. What fun!

this is the guy who has 15 min of fame because he did a terrible version of "she bangs" on american idol. (he even has a website, telling where he's gonna be performing next)

What he said.

Apparently a lot of people are crazy for him now, hence the website (which I heard he didn't start). Ellen said she wanted him on the show because she liked his attitude.

Nuff said. Don't know of him, don't care to.

Nope

Tscott 02-17-04 03:58 PM

Forget William Hung. I was watching for Lauren Graham. Melissa Ethridge was pretty good too.

SPiRAL 02-17-04 04:12 PM

This guy and Ricky Martin need to do a duet.

Yeah, cuz they look like they could be twins.

IdgIe49 02-17-04 06:26 PM

the radio station I listen to played a mix of his song this morning. it was too cool. They said there was a petition with about 17000 signatures to get him back on AI. heh he'd probably end up winning.

B.A. 02-17-04 06:47 PM

Entertainment Tonight keeps playing clips of him in a recording studio and they are listening to the music - it's pretty damn humorous.

Melissa was great. She seems like such a down to earth and genuine person. I've never seen her on a talk show before. Question, is she pregnant? I know her (ex) partner had the first two kids. But I've never seen Melissa that heavy before. Was just curious. I've read she wanted more.

BlackCapTen 02-17-04 09:07 PM

Damn I missed this! William Hung is friggin' hilarious. She bangs!!!

I think Ellen is rerun on Oxygen. I can't beleive I might have to find the Oxygen channel on my system!

TheMadMonk 02-17-04 09:38 PM

That dude was funny; but you can't help feel bad for him.

fujishig 02-18-04 12:10 AM

William was better than most of tonight's contestants on AI.

I've never seen the Ellen show before this. Are the guests always like this? It seemed like Lauren Graham was on drugs or something... and they didn't talk about Gilmore Girls at all.

Very rarely does Ellen and her guests focus on whatever they are promoting. It is refershing and entertaining, since it is more of a natural, relaxed conversation (with gifts, too!) and less of a 3 minute, phony promotion for the latest book or CD or TV show or movie.

It makes it worth watching, really.

DVDsucker 02-18-04 12:33 AM

I Tivo'ed it to see William Hung. By the way - all you anti-AI people: William Hung is the Anti-American Idol (not anti-american you see - more like anti-idol)

Too bad Ellen jumped in & screwed up his edition of "Rocket Man"

Charlie Goose 02-18-04 01:13 AM

Jeez, it was kind of cute and funny when the guy auditioned for AI, but this is just ****ing stupid now.

Damfino 02-18-04 01:51 AM

somebody's got to sign this guy to a recording contract!

gnradd21 02-18-04 09:32 AM

I saw the scenes of him in the recording studio on Entertainment Tonight. I liked how Clay and Kelly were trying to be kind when commenting on his version of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?".

"It's enough to make kings and wag-a-bonds..."

I still don't think he realizes people are laughing at him, and he seriously thinks he has a future in music. It's kinda sad, really.

mdc3000 02-18-04 11:27 AM

WIlliam Hung Rules!!! I was laughing my ass off during the whole show... Ellen really seems to feel for the guy, but I can't say I feel too bad for him... he is making a killing and getting lots of publicity out of this.

MATT

mphtrilogy 02-18-04 01:36 PM

tick tock tick tock,

the last minute of his 15 has now ended for Mr. W. Hung,

Each song he got worse on Ellen.

I am ready to end the love affair

Alyoshka 02-18-04 03:20 PM

Did anyone mention that Ellen is the best daytime talk show?

It's not on until 9 pm here, but when I first saw she was doing a show, I never imagined it would be so good. She's a natural at it.

BizRodian 02-18-04 04:29 PM

Anti-American Idol
You are on to something.

Simon: So why do you hate America?
Contestant: I dislike their foriegn policy!
Simon: Is that it? if this was French Idol, you might make it, but we're looking for real Anti-Americans. You are pathetic.

DonnachaOne 02-18-04 04:35 PM

I wonder what he'd be like if he DID have professional training...

I thought the only reason people watched AI was so they could laugh at people like him and watch Simon insult them. So wouldn't that make him pro-AI?

I didn't see the show, but I've seen Lauren Graham on several talk shows over the years and she always acts like a kid hopped up on candy....talking way to fast and never completing her thoughts.
