Grammys

CBS airs the music award event of the year.

5 second delay in effect due to Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. I think Janet is set to perform. Maybe Xtina will try to top her (no pun intended!)

Rypro 525 02-08-04 06:30 AM

no, its a 5 min delay, and janet pulled out (no pun intended).

kantonburg 02-08-04 08:35 AM

Yep 5 min. CBS execs want to be able to edit anything to shocking!

astrochimp 02-08-04 11:39 AM

I'm looking forward to seeing The White Stripes perform with Beck :)

Didn't know about this!

Anyone have a line-up for what order everyone performs?

astrochimp 02-08-04 01:11 PM

I think i might be wrong on that, looks like Beck is just there to introduce them. Not sure when they are on but one WS site has them performing in the 1st hour of the show.

If there is a 5 minute delay, I would not be surprised if some of these people on stage start cussing left and right and flashing their tits just to make the CBS censors work that much harder.

movieking 02-08-04 05:45 PM

I am just going to tape it and FF through the commercials tomorrow morning to check out the performances, and probably read up on the awards tomorrow at work. Since it is delayed, and nothing unexpected will make it through air, it will probably be another boring awards show.

big whoppa 02-08-04 05:58 PM

Sorry, 5 minutes. With a 5 minute delay, CBS could wipe out an entire performance if they want. What power!

Beyonce and Prince are scheduled to performed together. I want to check that out.

nazz 02-08-04 05:59 PM

Thanks to now getting HD CBS on DirecTV, I'm really looking forward to tonight's awards in high definition and 5.1 surround.

big whoppa 02-08-04 06:02 PM

Also Outkast will perform Hey Ya! Andre always performs that song differently each time. Wardrobe and makeup wise.

lisadoris 02-08-04 06:03 PM

I'm taping it and I'll watch it later. The only performance I really want to see is Prince and Outkast (I assume the latter is/are performing).

DGibFen 02-08-04 06:33 PM

i'll tape it, but I'm going to watch part of it "live" in between watching other shows tonight.

Do you think that there will be a moment that reunites the remaining Beatles or pays homage to the "fab four" seeing as how it WAS 40 years ago this week and day of the week that they debuted on CBS of all stations?

The homage is on right now - Vince Gill, Sting, Dave Matthews, and Phrallel Williams (The Neptunes) are recreating the Ed Sullivan show act.

Or, failing that, they could just get four guys to make the Beatles' music sound horrible.

Okay then...glad I'm not watching.

Note to Quentin Tarantino: you're a Jack Ass!!!

I like the guys movies, but please, keep him behind all cameras at all times.

Rogue588 02-08-04 07:21 PM

I was gonna post it in the CBS "time delay" thread, but that Prince/Beyonce "duet" was craptacular...

B.A. 02-08-04 07:35 PM

Nice to see Jack White have fun playing at the Grammy's.

Andalusia 02-08-04 07:35 PM

Great White Stripes performance.

RichC2 02-08-04 07:35 PM

I rather liked that White Stripes performance..

Jack White played the hell out of it.

mikewendt 02-08-04 07:39 PM

Did everyone hear Tarantino laughing while the nominees were anounced?

DGibFen 02-08-04 07:39 PM

The OutKast speech was great - "Thank you!" (Walks off the stage)

Joeboo835 02-08-04 07:40 PM

What was that second song they played (stripes)?
