Debra Jo Rupp vs Everybody loves Raymond

I'm sure I am missing something by not living in the US, so it is probably a cultural thing. However, can someone please explain why the women in Everybody loves Raymond keep getting awards and yet Debra Jo Rupp has never been nominated.
Her work in That 70s show is brilliant, yet the Emmys seem to go to Everybody loves Raymond.
I've tried to like Everybody loves Raymond, but it just seems so tired and unpleasant. Am I missing a reason, or is it just that Debra Jo Rubb has been unfairly overlooked?
Thanks for any assistance.

I agree with ya. Debra Jo Rupp is great on that show, as is Kurtwood Smith. Has he ever been nominated?

Not according to IMDB. Just further prove that awards are like leemings. They all just follow each other and don't try to make a break for something new.

It's a tossup between That 70's Show and Malcom in the Middle for the funniest parents on TV. I couldn't pick a favorite between the 4 of them.

I love Debra Jo Rupp on "That 70's Show" although I think they're going a little too far with the alcoholism jokes this season.

[old and tired comment] the recognition of awards shows is, for the most part, bought and sold as part of a marketing strategy, and to a lesser degree (especially in the case of Oscar Best Actor/Actress) somewhat political [/old and tired comment]
