Janet's Breast on CBS

How did CBS get away with that on the Half-Time Show?

Heheheh...

ChrisHicks 02-01-04 07:53 PM

pics?

Jackskeleton 02-01-04 07:57 PM

Claim it wasn't expected.

Janet saw it coming, most likely breast plate/cup was there to cover her tit.

star on the nip. Good wholesome family fun that shows our young boys to rip the shirts off of girls, and tells girls to put up with it.

check out the Mature area for video footage

If you are trying to teach your childern based off football games, you might want to rethink your game plan. ;)

hotaru_san 02-01-04 09:48 PM

people have worn things like that on tv before (lil' kim, mtv movie awards)
it would have been sexier if the outfit had been better- but the bounciness was nice

and I think the moral of that is that if you're a sexy guy, you can do whatever you want to chicks, which is generally true (unless you can get rich by suing them)

Patman 02-01-04 09:54 PM

The NFL has already issued a statement apologizing for the content of the halftime show (it's highly doubtful MTV will be invited to do the show again for the forseeable future).

Chad 02-01-04 10:03 PM

Statement by NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne regarding the Super Bowl halftime show:

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced Halftime show. They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."
Fine by me.

Drudge is saying CBS new about it but is now saying they did not. Hmmmm

Jackskeleton 02-01-04 10:18 PM

who cares? she had a nipple cover. it's been done with both tits before.

Kal-El 02-01-04 10:26 PM

It's actually a piercing. Damn I can't believe they got away with that.

It isn't a problem if you have the halftime show rated differently than the Superbowl, but they didn't. Don't have an "everyone" rating, and then have that on at halftime. I'm not a huge prude, but I do mind my young boys (and the young girls of the frinds that were with us) seeing women objectified like this. By all means do it, but rate it differently so that I can change the channel with my 4 year old watching.

Jackskeleton 02-01-04 10:44 PM

She wasn't totally nude. You see just as much on awards shows like hotaru said. Lil' kims outfit comes to mind. Other see through out fits as well. CBS knew of this before and I wouldn't be opposed to a different rating, but considering you see skimpy outfits with the cheerleaders on the field as well with the ad's. I think it's should be expected.. Hell was there a fuss when the budlight ad ran where the two chicks faught it out?

kvrdave 02-01-04 10:47 PM

I would expect it if I was watching the MTV awards shows, and I wouldn't let my 4 year old watch that. I would not expect it at a superbowl halftime show. I can't believe that is so hard to understand. We actually had it muted with The Beatles playing over the songs because we figured the songs would not be 4 year old appropriate. I think that is reasonable to assume given who is singing. However, to say that nudity should be expected during prime time on a network is just silly.

I agree, it wasn't really appropriate to show with a such a large audience that wasn't expecting anything like that.
It wasn't even all that cool either- it seemed too planned out but still random enough to be wierd, like the rest of the show.

Patman 02-01-04 10:55 PM

You'd think that with a brother arrested on charges of child indecency, Janet would try to find a better way to boost her career without flashing the world with a pasty-fied right boob. I guess Playboy's next for her if her career resuscitation fails.

mariakitty 02-01-04 11:03 PM

Who is the philosopher who once said that sex is used when one has a lack of talent and creativity? Certainly fits in this case.

bdshort 02-01-04 11:06 PM

Did anyone here else miss this during the actual show? After seeing the clip it should have been obvious. I guess I wasn't paying that much attention.

Brian

Iron_Giant 02-01-04 11:38 PM

I made me sick. What a selfish thing for both Justin and Janet to do, all they were thinking about was themselves.

So who was at fault besides J & J: CBS, NFL or MTV.

NFL never should had allowed MTV to do the show, I would have rather had Nickelodeon do the who half time show.

So it's actually nipples that are taboo? Then what's all the fuss about?

Ripping off a woman's clothing during a half time show during prime time with no warning when many families with children watching is taboo. Is it hard to see that?

It isn't like this was a nipple on some medical show or National Geographic, it was during an overtly sexual half time show.

Iron_Giant 02-01-04 11:50 PM

CBS is running a poll asking the most memorable moment of the SB. One of the questions is "Janet Jackson has wardrobe malfunction in halftime show". What a lie, the was not a "Malfunction".

One thing I'll be very happy about is if this ends up being bad for MTV.

It's high time that their puerile suckitude went front and center...I'm certainly no cultural conservative but they could use some really focused scrutiny by music fans and the press.

Tongue-in-cheek... Should have added one of these: ;)
