The Office Question

Is The Office still on the air?

Meaning do they still make new episodes?

Over at IMDB it says the series ended last year.

I actually want to watch this now to see all the hype.

BBC no longer films any new episodes. It was only on for two seasons, and I believe the creators decided to end it there. Most British shows don't go on and on... and on like successful American series (though there are exceptions like Doctor Who).

I think the second season is currently airing on BBC America. The DVD of the first season is out, and the second one will be on R1 in April.

There was also a 2 part (95 minutes total) Christmas special follow-up to the second season. It hasn't been shown on BBCAmerica yet, though.

And it doesn't look like it will be on the Season 2 DVDs. I expect it will probably be released before Christmas '04 in R1...

The Christmas Special is a definate must see. It's easily one of the best finales in the history of sitcoms.

I'll second that. The first part is pretty good but the second and final episode is simply superb.

Possibly the best episode of The Office ever made.

But there will be no more.

Will they have this series at Blockbuster? I'm eager to see it, but don't get BBC America.

Or can BBC America be accessed online??

I watched Season 1 by renting it at Blockbuster, so I would assume Season 2 will be there as well.

BBC America is a regular cable channel, and definitely worth the cost.

At 12 episodes (plus the Christmas two-parter), The Office is Britain's longest-running show.

Depdned what you mean by "regular cable cannel." I have Comcast in Chicago, and it's not available on a standard cable package -- only on Digital Cable.

If your point is that it's not a premium channel like HBO or Showtime, then you are 110% correct.

You are also correct that BBC America is definitely worth the cost.

Cool--I'll look for it at BlockBuster.

Yeah, BBC America isn't on my extended Charter cable in Fort Worth. Apparently, it's only on Charter Digital Cable.
