2 million dollars for a 30 second spot on..... Friends series finale!
NBC is selling 30-second spots during the Friends finale for $2 million apiece and could reap $70 million for the night, according to the trade publication Broadcasting & Cable. The magazine observed that the figure is just shy of the $2.3-million price for a Super Bowl ad and is somewhat higher than the $1.7 million that the network charged for a spot on the Seinfeld finale in 1998. Spots on the one-hour "clips" show that is scheduled to precede the farewell episode are going for $1.25 million each, the magazine said. The final Friends episode, due to air on May 6, is expected to draw more than 30 million households.
oh god, we had a clip show already this season, do we really need another one?

I think most people would be disappointed if they didn't do one before they ran the final episode. The Seinfeld clip show was done very well...

It's amazing that people keep watching/talking about a show they obviously hate. But that's the Internet for ya.
