question, is there any audition footage from Hawaii? Conan recently had a bit where Triumph the insult comic dog, went down to make fun of the contestants, and got kicked out by fox security.

that guy that Paula swooned over wasn't that good. Not as good of talent (that was shown) as compared to the NY show last night. So is the plan to show Houston tomorrow, and the last three cities next week?

Although I think the auditions are funny. Wouldn't you think they would have some prescreening process to weed out the people that flat out suck? I mean how many people do they audition? Maybe it's a stipulation in their contracts but if it were me I'd have the people that flat out can't sing weeded out. I'm sure people do it just to get on tv and see if they make the "suck" cut.

they dont want to weed out the ones that flat out suck
those are the funniest ones!
and by having lots of those.. they can have a bunch of shows later on, in the slow part of the season.. dedicated to the worst auditions
some people definitly do it just to get on TV.. why else would someone sing in the donald duck voice

I think the "real" singers are really, really boring.

Boy, the bit with the multi-screens (Brady Bunch-like) of people singing/butchering the same song was great.
Why don't some of these friends tell/show them how badly they suck at singing before they make fools of themselves?
Randy is a whole lot meaner this season with his derisive laughter during the auditions.

Simon/Randy/Paula see a very small % of the people.
The ones that are great and boarder line making it. And the ones that SUCK SUCK SUCK so bad that atleast pretend that they don't even realize it since that is what makes funny tv.

I think the guy with the cleaning service company was my favorite.
Paula What kind of company is it that you have?
Pablo It's a cleaning company.
Simon I hope you clean better than you sing.

I didn't think this episode was as interesting as the first night for some reason. Maybe I was not in the mood for it, but I was having a hard time paying attention to this episode. I was getting restless.

1) the "Do you love me?" guy; best part: he's singing soooo badly, you can hardly recognize the song, then camera cuts to the judges stunned expressions, speechless looks, then cuts back to him as he pauses for the LONGEST time then continues with the song: "Watch me now!" I was howling with laughter!! The only thing that would've made it better was if he had started dancing!!
2) the red-haired, over-pierced guy that had the judges fighting laughter the whole time... haven't seen two people fight laughter that poorly in I-don't-know-how-long! Best part: Paula saying, "Do you have anything else you'd like to sing?", just to torture her fellow judges some more!!
I've never been a fan of AI because I'd always seen the end, and I agree, it gets boring... but this is the best part, can't believe I missed this previous seasons!!

I'm thinking Randy's "new attitude" this year is a failed attempt to be "controversial" during the contestant selections in order to gain the same type of "recognition" Simon has received from the past Idol shows.

Soooooooommmmewheeeerrrrreeee oh-oh-oh-oh-ver the...........ray-ay-ay-ayn-boooooooow!
I agree that the guy Paula was hugging was not that good. Handsome guy, yes, but singing was only average. I didn't think the guy with the huge smile was very good either. I'm just not feeling the auditions this time around, dawg.
Some of the bad singers are definitely aware of it and are just there to be on television, but many are totally clueless.

I guess I'm in the minority about these installments so far... none of the auditions clips are particularly astounding nor laugh out loud funny as in previous seasons.
