Did you hear it on an NBC promo? Because in November, they were showing promos for the Thanksgiving episode, calling it "the last Thanksgiving episode of Friends ever!", so maybe that's what you heard: "the last _______ episode of Friends EVER!"

perhaps you're getting it confused..?

the last episode is scheduled to be taped toward the end of the month..

I hear it ends with the "Friends" venturing out into the real world to discover there are other ethnicities out there..

jennifer aniston said something on letterman about getting her last script soon, so couldn't they be taping the last episode on or around that date?

it's been a must see tv show for me for every other season and i'm not sure i've seen more than few minutes of it this season.

i'm sure you all have talked about it before, but if they were only going to do 13 shows, i would have rather they ended it last season or started the season in january.

i have too much going on to know when a show is a repeat or not and with 13 episodes, odds are there are a lot them this year, so i end up not even remembering to look for the show.

thursdays only means survivor night in this house now.

I'm pretty sure they was an 18 episode deal for this year. That is why there has already been quite a few repeats (there was not a new episode in December). However, it's last episode will be in May like all of the other season finales.

i remember hearing that this season was to be 18 episodes as well. i may start watching again just to see how they wrap it up but honestly, i haven't watched more than one or two shows in about 2 years. it ran outta steam a long time ago.

Honestly, this thread, did you expect any other sort of answer.

filming of the last episode. they aren't getting cancelled, they are just calling it quits as a show after all these years. Besides, last season would have been it, but they decided to get one more vast fortune out of it with another season.

maybe the add just said:

"tune in this Jan. 29th for the last new episode that will air on Jan. 29th."

seriously though, how long before they start running ads like this?
