The Shield
When is the new season of the shield starting?
They are reairing seasons 1 and 2 right now (awesome for me since I never watched it before). 1 per week. They are about half-way through S1 now, so I would assume it will be at least 4 more months so maybe around May.
According to the FX site, "Coming in March." I believe it was originally slated for January before getting pushed back.

damn, i canNOT wait 2 more months for the Shields new season. i have had the entire second season saved on my TiVo sinceit ended until the DVD comes out. any guesses as to what is going to happen this season? The promo is kinda telling in a vauge way, if that makes any sense.

Why the push back delays in prodution? or maybe the creator of the show and FX have issues regarding the content of this show? Dare I say it FX wants the show censored for broadcast? c'mon das spill the reason. |
March is going to be a big month with new seasons of both The Shield and The Sopranos.
its march so they can finish seasons 1 and 2 in time. they are only on like episode 8 or 9 of season 1 on the repeats.
"Cupid and Psycho" was the last episode (episode 8) my Tivo taped so season 2 starts soon!
March? NOOOOOOOO!
At least this will give me time to review the previous seasons on DVD. |
On another note, dont the promos they are airing after each ep. of the Shield tell you alot about where they are headed in season 3? it appears they are airing short promos right after each episode with different bits of dialouge throughout season 3. w/o spoiling it, the stuff sounds like this will be the best season of this show.
What nights are the reruns on FX? I need to start watching S1.
They air them Tuesdays at 10. They repeat the same episode the following Sunday at 10. There are only 3 eps left to go in their S1 airings (4 if you count the Sunday airings).
Since they have 3 S1 episodes left and 13 S2 episodes, if they keep up the current pace, S3 should begin late April/early May. |
also, season 1 is only 39.99 at BJ's club store.
But I believe there will be 15 episodes in the third season! Or at least that's what I heard...

It would kind of make sense for them to start Season 3 in April / May, that would let them air "The Shield" episodes pretty much year round in that time slot.
I found a post from Shawn Ryan on the official message board. Because they are adding two episodes to the season, he felt he needed more time for post-production on the earlier episodes. Hence the March premiere date.
I also learned that there's a Shield comic book coming out later this month. |
since we are still in season 1 in repeats, are they gonna skip around in season 2 or are they gonna do back to back episodes?
If they keep the quality up, I'm willing to wait however long it takes. Kudos to FX for making the right decision. Some networks would have forced it to premier as planned to capitalize on Feb sweeps.
hey, anyone know who does the main title song? And is that the same song that is in the new season 3 promos.

does that trio go by a group name since i can't find it at all music.
I don't know if they go by another name, I've never heard of them either.
By the way, the Black Eyed Peas will be playing on Saturday Night Live this weekend (January 10, '04). |

FX Sets Return Dates For 'Shield,' 'Nip/Tuck' (Friday, January 09 01:39 PM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Two of the jewels in FX's drama development crown have set premiere dates for their upcoming new episodes. The cable network has scheduled the Emmy and Gold Globe winning drama "The Shield" for a mid-spring launch, while Golden Globe nominee "Nip/Tuck" will be back in the early summer. The 2003 Golden Globe winner for best drama, "The Shield" began production on its third season in September 2003 and the first of 15 new episodes will air on Tuesday, March 9 at 10 p.m. ET. Most of the creative team and cast are returning for the new season, which features two more episodes than either of the previous years. "Seven episodes from the upcoming season are complete and, from what we've seen so far, fans of 'The Shield' have a lot to look forward to come March," says Peter Liguori, FX's president and chief executive officer. "As usual, Shawn Ryan and his writing team have put together compelling storylines and Michael Chiklis, CCH Pounder and the entire cast once again are delivering great performances." Other returning stars include Benito Martinez, Walton Goggins, Jay Karnes, Catherine Dent, Michael Jace and Kenneth Johnson. When "The Shield" completes its run, FX will be ready to bring back the controversial and acclaimed "Nip/Tuck," which is nominated for the outstanding drama series Golden Globe. After a 13-episode first season, the dramedy will be bumped up to 16 in its second year. The fun will begin on Tuesday, June 22 at 10 p.m. ET. In addition to the Golden Globe nod for the series, Joely Richardson picked up a nomination for best actress in a drama series. Richardson and stars Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon will return to what was basic cable's most-watched new series of 2003. |
