I really enjoyed this episode as well. Lots of good stuff throughout, although it was very reminiscent of other older Simpsons...

WTF king of the hill started at 7:55 but the simpsons ended at 8:30.
Did they only show 5 minutes of king of the hill??
I missed most of the simpsons

"Yep"

Venusian 12-14-03 07:53 PM

Exzavier00 12-14-03 07:55 PM

b*stards they should have said that! why didnt they start king of the hill allready in progress.

PalmerJoss 12-14-03 07:55 PM

Great episode. My favorite line--

"I'm jealous of girls because they get to wear dresses" rotfl

MrX 12-14-03 09:08 PM

Ebenezer Urkel:lol:

Good episode

El-Kabong 12-14-03 10:30 PM

Oh my god - I've seen something I havent seen in 4 or 5 years: a Funny Simpsons! Not "just one laugh out of half an hour", not a "Occasionaly chuckle at one of Homer's pratfalls", but top to bottom funny throughout.

It was so strange. I'l have to tune in next week and see if they can keep it up. . . .

POWERBOMB 12-14-03 11:06 PM

Well I was not too impressed in this episode, but it was prolly because of a long day watching way too much football.

madcougar 12-14-03 11:59 PM

I'm going to have to catch a rerun, as I was watching Survivor. Either that or snag it off Usenet.

Deftones 12-15-03 12:31 AM

a very good episode. reminded me of old time simpsons episodes.

the part where Homer filed down the picture cubes corners for Lenny and was poking him in the eye was great.

"Now, it only midly stings" rotfl

I felt the same, but not in a good way...

They've already done the "Flanders is jealous of Homer for being more of a good guy than him" plot and it wasn't changed for the better this time.

The two or three most recent episodes really felt like they were composed from pieces of older episodes.

I've felt the same way, but still enjoyed this one!

Is this the most "live-action" Simpsons has had? Other than the Treehouse episode with the CGI Homer in the real world, I can't think of much else.

Groucho 12-15-03 06:56 AM

Some laughs, but I wasn't too impressed. Just about everything had been done before.

Chew 12-15-03 07:02 AM

How much would that baseball card really be worth?

Palaver 12-15-03 07:27 AM

Bum: These pants smell worse then my old pants.

Homer: You're welcome.

:)

DGibFen 12-15-03 09:00 AM

The California Prunes had me laughing hard.

Lisa: "That's offensive to both Christians AND prunes!"

rotfl

The Antipodean 12-15-03 10:55 AM

The live-action (or 'clay action) bits looked stupid and out of place. What was the point of that?

CaptainMarvel 12-15-03 10:56 AM

I thought this one was great, as well.

Geofferson 12-15-03 11:23 AM

Great episode indeed!

For anyone that missed it (which includes me), this episode is repeating one week from today (Monday, December 22) at 8 PM

I believe they were a reference to the clay action Christmas specials they used to run every holiday season when I was a kid during the mid 1970s. The one I remember clearly was the Rudolph movie and I believe there was also a Frosty the Snowman version.
