Sci Fi, on the other hand, is ecstatic over the performance of "Battlestar Galactica." Its average audience is the third-best in the channel's history, trailing earlier miniseries "Taken" and "Dune." After drawing just under 3.9 million people for Monday's premiere, "Galactica" averaged 4.46 million viewers Tuesday.

Tuesday's installment was the most-watched show on cable for the night and also beat broadcast networks UPN and The WB in total viewers. It was Sci Fi's best night of the year in total viewers and all key demographics.

Shouldn't take long for a series announcement, I would guess.

I have to say that I enjoyed this. The fact that the audience went up obviously suggests that those who watched it did, too, and told their friends. Normally you might say Monday Night Football would have drawn off some viewers, but not the Rams-Browns matchup. Plus, Tuesday's lineup is pretty strong competition, so these are all good signs. (I didn't watch part 2 until tonight on Tivo. I enjoyed BG, but not enough to even think about dissing 24.)

I just had to mention: Nice chilly quarters for Starbuck, obviously.

I noticed that, too. But it didn't really register for me. I mean, it's kinda like looking at your butch sister.

Boomer, on the other hand: I'd hit it.

first time seeing the new one was last night, kinda threw me off.
b/c
Col. T is an old white guy
Boomer is an Asian chick
Starbuck is a butch chick

All in all, it was pretty good. I kinda miss the old Cylon robots though, esp Lucifer (the cone headed Cylon).

That'd be great news to me. I fully expected to HATE the remake, but was quite entertained. That may the first time I've ever LIKED Eddie Olmos in anything. I thought his Adama was fantastic and I really dug the new Col. Ty, Baltar, Apollo and, gulp, the albeit stunt casting of Starbuck and Boomer. They gotta figure a way to bring back the walking "toasters," though. They can keep their skeletal Six of Nine starter kit, I like my Cylons in chrome, please. Bring on the series, bring on the DVD!

At least they didn't just write off the "walking toasters" completely. As the museum showed, the Cylons in this series used to look like that and, presumably, there are still some old model Cylons hanging around somewhere (unless they all upgraded).

just watched the last 30 minutes again
do you think Adama actually knows where Earth is in this version or is he just trying to sound confident to improve morale?

and if I had waited another 5 minutes my question was answered

Yeah, it’s a good thing this is fiction. It would be disturbing to think that the government would be clueless and deliberately misleading us into believing they know what they’re doing.

Finally aired here in Canada on the Space Network and i really enjoyed the mini-series.I guess like most people and as someone who grew up watching the original series i was sceptical but i saw the positive reviews here and decided to tune it.Very well done show and i would love to see more of it.Any news on whether or not it is becoming a series?
