Anyone see Dolly & Melissa Etheridge on CMT Crossroads?

I'll admit I was skeptical at first, placing anyone in the company of Dolly and all. But I'll have to admit they did a pretty darn good job together singing each other's songs. I thought their voices really complimented each others. The interview clips backstage they showed between songs were pretty hilarious too, anyone else catch this?

I don't have cable, so I had my folks tape it for me. Entertainment Weekly said that Etheridge sometimes looked at Parton longingly. True?

Saw it on the weekend. I'll say right off, I like Dolly's "Come to my Window" much better than the original.

Anyone else see it?

What else did you think, woofman?

You guys crack me up.

Melissa did look at Dolly a lot, but I think it was more of a "I'm in awe to be standing on stage singing next to you " look more than a "I want to touch your coat of many colors" sort of thing. I loved the show personally, when they harmonized together, it was special-and not in a short bus kinda way. They sang an Elvis song backstage, talked about personal issues, joked around, really good stuff.

Yeah, I just saw it on the weekend.

I liked it a lot, and I was surprised at how well Dolly worked with Etheridge's songs.

You're right, though. Melissa looked totally in awe of Dolly, and Dolly seemed less familiar with Melissa.

Not sure if my Dad screwed up the taping, but I only saw a few seconds of them doing "I Walk the Line." Was there a fuller performance of it that my Dad missed?

Dolly does Melissa's songs better than Melissa does Dolly's.
I'm looking forward to the Pat Benetar/Martina McBride one next week.
My favorite one so far has been John Mellencamp/Kenny Chesney.

Arrgghh.... I just discovered this show with the Dolly Parton and Melissa Etheridge one. I wish I had seen the Mellencamp / Chesney one (saw a clip on the CMT website of them doing "Jack and Diane.")

I wish I'd seen the Elton John / Ryan Adams one. Dammit. Anyone know if I can get copies of these somewhere?

I'm looking forward to the Benetar / McBride one, though I'm not familiar with McBride's music.

Really can't wait for Dave Matthews and Emmylou Harris in January though!!!! Not a big fan of Dave Matthews, but Emmylou could do anything and I'd be there. Emmylou is a sexy older woman IMO!! Mmm...
