Jonathan Brandis has died!....

I just saw this posted at the HTF:

And heres something from the "Cleveland Plain Dealer" website.....

Actor Jonathan Brandis, 27, who starred in the movie "The Year That Trembled," which was filmed in Ohio, was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment Wednesday. Brandis, 27, was found by friends and pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Los Angeles coroner's office. There were no signs of violence. An autopsy was due to be performed yesterday, an investigator said. "The Year That Trembled," produced by Tyler Davidson and Scott Lax, who were living in the Cleveland area at the time, was filmed in Ohio and premiered at the Cleveland International Film Festival in 2002. Brandis played Casey Pedersen, a young man who is caught up in the turmoil of the Vietnam War. "It's a terrific tragedy, and our hearts go out to the family," said Davidson, who now lives in Los Angeles.

I really still don't know if its true or not I really liked him in Seaquest.

Wow, this is a sad week for actors dying young. :(

das Monkey 11-18-03 12:03 PM

"Terrific tragedy" just doesn't sound right.

Anyway, sad news. I never liked the guy and enjoyed ragging on all his silly performances, but 27's too damn young to die.

das

The kid from SeaQuest?

Holy shit!

lisadoris 11-18-03 12:39 PM

Oh goodness I really hope that isn't true. I loved SeaQuest.

Plus, I agree with das, 27 is just way too damn young to die

Duran 11-18-03 01:13 PM

Wasn't he also the young Bill in "It"?

Jonny2k1 11-18-03 01:34 PM

That sucks. He was awesome in SeaQuest.

Me neither. Something smells fishy.

adamblast 11-18-03 03:13 PM

He will be missed. :(

Unless it's just a silly rumor, in which case I never liked him. :)

Drexl 11-18-03 03:28 PM

He's listed on the Life in Legacy page now, but I can't find anything else online either.

Morf 11-18-03 04:00 PM

I'm nearly positive that this is a load of crap. Even a Google News search on Jonathan-Brandis turns up nada.

that link says he was found dead on November 12.

If that was true, any major media outlet would have reported it.

I call Bullshit.

Seantn 11-18-03 06:13 PM

I posted here about Kelly Waymire's death last week, and it wasn't confirmed for a few days.

dolphinboy 11-18-03 07:06 PM

It seems true. I found this.

Update 11/18 8:20 am - I have called the LA County Coroner's office myself, and a Jonthan Gregory Brandis has died.

Update 5:41 pm - Jonathan's death has been confirmed in a personal e-mail by a producer of Jon's last movie, The Year That Trembled to a member of on online fan club. Why this hasn't been picked up yet by any other media sources, I can't say. Sorry, guys.

'Trembled' actor dies

But it seems really odd that I can't find this reported elsewhere on the web. None of Jonathan's fan sites are reporting anything, nor has IMBD have anything about his death.

Giles 11-18-03 10:35 PM

when I first read the name, it took me a couple of minutes to remember he was the actor who was in the films: 'Neverending Story II" and "Ladybugs".

Deftones 11-18-03 10:44 PM

bummer. He will always be remembered for playing the hot soccer chick in Ladybugs.

Morf 11-19-03 04:19 PM

Hmm. Maybe it is true. If so, he has/had the worst agent in the world.
