I have tons of nice things to say about Angel.....just none of them have been about this current season. For the past three years (Seasons 2 through 4) Angel has been my favorite show currently airing, and I have been watching the show since it's first episode. Season 5 thus far has been a huge disappointment for me. This week's episode was great though and I expect next week will be as well.
Spoiler:
I think it highly unlikely to have a bad episode with Drusilla appearing, whether it be only in flashbacks or not
. Hopefully the season has finally turned its corner and will get back to being the show that I love.
My only complaint about this week's ep is that still Angel has never vamped out. I mean, is he still even a vampire??? (I don't clearly recall him putting on his vamp face once the whole season......has he?) If he has I can't remember it.

Remember the Incrediable Hulk weekly show, you expected him to turn every episode, something very predictable in that, when Angel turns again, maybe it will be for a more profound moment, any angel fan has seen him him vamp out for 3 seasons of Buffy, and 4 seasons of Angel, bit of a break, I mean there are times, given angels' long life, where there's been some months without having to turn, it's refreshing, I'm not waiting for him to vamp out, it's not a highlight for the show everyweek, but it will happen again, angel has been using his brains a bit more, be patient and watch, he'll be vamping when it matters.

He vamped out in "Conviction" (during the classroom scene), and he did it again in "Unleashed" (when he was putting a scare into Dr. Phlox). I don't think he's done it other than those 2 times this season.

Cool, then he did it, I think some are stretching for straws and expect a vamp out on request.:D

As I'm not watching the season, I'm in UK, I am a fan and good to hear from other fans.

Finally got around to watching this episode and I was real happy that the show seems back on track after the last two episodes.

Did anyone else notice the cool foreshadowing in last week's episode when Angel mentioned "the son will kill the father" to Wesley (and he was like "huh?") That was my first thought when Wesley emptied the clip in his "dad".

...except you got it backwards. "The father will kill the son", in reference to the false prophecy that inspired Wesley to kidnap Connor in season three.

Yes, but wasn't their original translation "The father will kill the son" and then they figured out it was actually "The son will kill the father"?

I can't remember exactly which one Angel said last week. It WOULD HAVE been cool if he had said the "the son will kill the father" one as a foreshadow to this week's events...

I'm nearly 100% certain that it was "the father will kill the son". IIRC, Angel mentioned in when talking about how Wesley takes the more difficult road because it's the right thing to do...how he took Angel's son knowing the possible consequences and suffered greatly because of it.

As far as I can remember it has always been "the father will kill the son" and then it turned out to be a false prophecy to put things in motion for the arrival of Jasmine.

This ep was nice just because we were able to see bad-ass Wes again. It's been awhile.
