Joan Of Arcadia "Death Be Not Whatever" -- 11.07.2003
Death Be Not Whatever After God asks Joan to start helping those in need, she reaches out to a single mother looking for a babysitter. Meanwhile, Will navigates through a political quagmire when two officers assault an African-American man at a gas station. Perhaps I didn't want to see another TV appearance by a Culkin hellspawn. Or maybe yet another controversy in the PD. Blah. Anyways, next week's looks REAL good. |
I liked the episode but it was only my 2nd week seeing the show so i dont have alot to compare it to.Mainly im happy to find a drama that i actually like the characters and look forward to seeing every week now that im Buffyless.

I liked this episode.
Glad the older brother has gotten away from whining the whole episode and is more positive. Looks like he will be getting a gf. Joan's story was good. I think it's funny when god turns up as the little girl The police story and the mom story was blah. Next week does look like it could be very good. |
Count me in the "ho-hum" column for this episode - saved by the acting, especially Steenbergen.

Amber Tamblyn gets hotter every week. Didn't care much for her mission this week though. That mother was such a bitch! Joan was being nice to her on the bus and she nearly bites her head off. Then she says that the babysitter is moving back, so get lost. Some gratitude. http://charliegoose.homestead.com/files/goose.jpg Honk! |

I think this was the only episode I've seen so far that I didn't like. I've hated the storyline with the older brother lately. I don't want to see him whining all the time, but his life all of a sudden seems too good. Also, he's a horrible actor.

I got distracted the first half hour of the episode (my neighbor turned up their woofer), but was able to concentrate on the show on the second half hour. I didn't like it as much as last week's episode. But still decent.

I like how several of the episodes have ended incomplete.
Sort of like John Sayles movie Limbo. We are given a simple storyline. But in the end we really do not know what happens to many of the characters. The importance/focus is on the moral & how Joan/Jane is impacted by each one. |
