Questions about getting a new DirecTV system

Didn't want to butt in on the other guys thread but I've got some questions about upgrading the current system I got installed. I've been wanting to find out more about getting a DirecTV TiVo receiver. I've only got a Hughes 2-room system right now so I'd have to grab a different satellite dish too.

About the recording two shows at one part:

"(requires two inputs from a dual-LNB dish for full functionality)"

What exactly does this mean?

Would a Philips dish work with a Hughes receiver?

And does anyone know about how much some installation companies will charge for installing a new system?

Thanks.

Call Directv and tell them you want to replace one of your receivers and move up to a DVR. Their current deal for existing customers is $99, which includes any necessary installation (new dish, cables, etc) to get you upgraded.

The DVR (DirecTiVo) receiver has 2 tuners built-in on each receiver, and each tuner requires its own line from the dish so that the unit can record 2 shows on 2 different channels at the same time. You CANNOT use a regular cable splitter. Each cable run has to come from an LNB or a multiswitch.

A dish is a dish is a dish. Directv and Dish Network have different multiswitch technology that is incompatible, but aside from that dishes and LNB's can all work together.

Basically, don’t sweat the details.

The only real question is: what the hell do I do with the receiver that the Tivo replaced?

Connect it to a third room
ebay
doorstop

Already got the doorstop thing working pretty good.

I thought about ebay, but who would be stoopid enough to…

…oh. Never mind. :D

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I'd like to get the TiVo put into the 3rd room and keep the existing receivers, but will they still cover the dish for that?
Sounds like a good deal so far though.
Thanks for your help.
