The Reagan's miniseries possibly cancelled??

The Reagan's miniseries

Maybe they should put it on Comedy Central instead.

A bunch of liberal's trashing a man who cannot even defend himself. Sad.

So you are saying that movies and mini-series should only be made about people who are alive and mentally sound?

Spoiler:
(sorry Das)

No, but they should be historically accurate and not fictitous.

Im no ultra-conservative, but since the main cast members and producer's are liberal, I smell rats behind this.

Who cares. Don't watch it. Heck, I would have never watched it. However, now with all the whining about it, I might actually check it out if it is aired. Everyone getting their panties in a bunch about this is ridiculous.

Please name one bio-movie, television or otherwise, that was 100% historically accurate.

CBS is planning on showing Reagan.
ABC is running a news program on the many (or maybe just one) wives of Jesus.

All we need now is a (NBC) Dateline story on Falwell's first time with his mother.

Okay kmac, can I produce a biographical mini-series that points out that Reagan sold arms to the Iranians, had an "October Surprise" of his own against Carter, instructed the Department of Ed and Agriculture that ketchup was a vegetable, and thought that AIDS was deserved by those who were infected?

If filmmakers want to be political why don't they be really political and really up front about it (like Godard)?

Sniping at Reagan (and by proxy the Republican party) during the run up to the Bush re-election is just petty and pathetic. It seems we don't have any political filmmaking anymore; just ham-fisted hacks, Texas Chainsaw remakes, phony hollow s**t like The OC, and the endless void of Reality TV.

I don't agree with any of this leftist BS, but I wish it were delivered with more artistic flare.

I wonder what the chances are of Showtime ending up with the rights to this and airing it?

They could call it another episode of "Bullshit" and nobody would be the wiser.

As usual, the conservatives run right to the liberal smear whining, just as their masters tell them to.

Try thinking for yourself for once.

And hey, if we're going to complain about accuracy, let's talk about that 9/11 movie that portrayed Bush as some brave hero directing his plane to take him back to Washington immediately, when in reality he was wetting himself in panic.

Or maybe we can go over that Jessica Lynch propaganda piece with a fine-toothed comb and shake out all the embellishments there.

How about the digitally enhanced edition where JFK shoots first?

Wow, you sure do jump to conclusions don't you. I do think for myself. I could make the same claim about you listening to the liberal party.

Why do you assume that because I am against this, I am listening to Bill O'Reilly and the conservative party? You do not know my party affiliation.

It would not matter to me whether it was conservative or liberal story. I also was against CBS showing the Adolf Hitler mini-series if it was not historically accurate. I would also be against a film about the Clintons by the conservatives.

I understand that in television and movies you have to take some creative steps, but this is rediculous. The networks should have some responsibilty in what they show to the masses.

Also, what 9/11 movie was that? And how do you know that he wet himself? We're you on the plane? It sounds like you are the one is whining.

I agree with you about the Jessica Lynch propoganda. It is a bunch of bs.

I do not think that bio-movies or television mini-series need to be 100% historically accurate, but this mini-series sounds like it is created to cast a bad light on the Reagans.

Why can we not have more mini-series like Band of Brothers? I am sure that it is not 100% historically accurate, but the inaccuracies do not cast a bad light on our history.

It just seems that this mini-series was created to mock and ridicule an American president.

So is it bad because it's mocking a president, or bad because it's not accurate?

All I know is that if I want to see fictitious television, I switch over to Fox News.

fine with me
if they took proper care of their weapons they probably would not have been captured, but that little bit of info doesn't make for good news shows

Here's a suggestion, try not being insulting. Simply put, comments like this can do nothing positive for a conversation. If this is the way you want to act toward other members, then maybe you shouldn't be posting at all.
