Scott Peterson Accused Of Killing Wife, Unborn Baby

POSTED: 11:00 a.m. EST October 31, 2003

LOS ANGELES -- Former "Superman" actor Dean Cain will portray accused murderer Scott Peterson in an upcoming cable television movie.

USA Networks announced Thursday that Cain will portray the Modesto man accused of murdering his wife -- Laci -- and their unborn son.

The two-hour original movie has the working title of "The Perfect Husband." USA says it will air in the first quarter of 2004.

Laci Peterson disappeared last Christmas Eve and her remains and that of her fetus were found in April along San Francisco Bay. Scott Peterson said he had been fishing when his wife went missing.

Scott Peterson is due back in court Friday for a preliminary hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for him to be tried on two counts of murder that could lead to the death penalty.

Man the trial hasn't even started yet!

They can't wait for the man to have his day in court?

Is this the first time someone has done a TV movie about an event before it's even gone to trial?

As much as it looks like he's guilty, you'd really think they'd want to wait until after the trial, because they're setting themselves up for one helluva lawsuit if he's acquitted.

Jesus, no one has any shame any more. This kind of thing always reminds of the older Simpson episodes where they have a TV movie of the even that happened on the Simpsons. Like Bart killing Principal Skinner, or Homer grabbing the babysitter's ass.

I think the Mike and Kathleen Peterson story is much more interesting...I really dont know why the national media didnt cover that like theyve been covering the Scott/Laci Peterson case. Oh, wait, I forgot...Scott and Laci are beautiful people and live in California, Mike and Kathleen are old and live in backwoods North Carolina.
