Rumor Mill: NBC and a Matthew Perry spin-off next Fall...
... they were talking on the radio this morning that there is rumors of talks that NBC wants to spin-off Matthew Perry's guest star character from his stint on The West Wing.
I guess they were impressed with his run as the lawyer Joe Quincy last season and are thinking of giving him his own show.
Since Joey's doing a comedy, it might be good for Perry to get serious and continue with (the ever lovable network fav) lawyer show.
I don't watch TWW, but I would give him a shot.

This is a great idea!! I'm sure it will run at least as long as Mister Sterling and/or The Lyon's Den. I applaud NBC for trying to bring exciting fresh ideas to telev......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I wish they had done an Ainsley Hayes spinoff. I will never forget her discourse to Sam on why the ERA was insulting to women and completely unnecessary. One of the truly great moments of television.

I agree with the suggestion that they just make him cast. He WAS great in his 2-episode stint last season. Didn't remind me of Chandler one bit. However, if they go thru with the spin-off, I'll watch.

Spoiler:
And is it established that Josh Malina is leaving the show? I guess it would make sense though.

i hope that josh molina isn't leaving. while it took him awhile to get settled, he is a great actor and always good. that being said, i wouldn't mind seeing perry added. he did a great job in his 2 episodes last year.

However, I don't think him and Malina are an even exchange both as actors and characters on the show. One's an accomplished writer which is the reason he got hired, and the other just wants to serve.
