Darrell Hammond's (sp?) Chris Matthews and Hardball has already started off better than last week's Ah-nuld. . .

"I'd call you a media whore, but that would be offensive to whores." - Matthews to Coulter

Psssst: Jeff Richards sucks. . .

Thought the Ashton Punk'd was funny as was the Jessica Simpson. I liked the omelette thing. But this restaurant boston sketch isn't working for me.

Justin is a hit. He's better than many of the cast members. Very funny as Jessica. Also liked how he did his ex's "Slave for You" in his omelet costume.

The Zazou sketch is wearing verrrry thin.

Jeff Richards still bugs me. Something about his face creeps me out. Don't care for any of his impersonations.

Sharon Osborne's dog took a shit.

Show over. Not bad.

So, did I miss them making fun of "The Kiss", or did they just not do it?

What a wasted opportunity if they didn't.

Much ado was made in the media about the defense attorney repeating the victim's[?] name. Whatever.

This show reeked. Hard.

Wow. Didn't think Justin would try to get Ashton back. Didn't think he'd take another dig at Britney. Didn't think Jeff Richards would be so GOOD.

Well, that last one's a lie. I knew he'd suck. I think the problem is the shows that they're parodying, aren't that far from being a parody themselves.

Or it could be that THIS show just sucks...

Britney is the musical guest next week. Expect something then.

This week was excellent. No bad sketches, and quite a few laughs.

Hardball - Nothing new, although the Gary Coleman jokes are getting stale quickly. It seems every show does a gag on his "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?". Extra points for mentioning the episode with Dudley and the Bike Shop Guy.

Punk'd - Justin's revenge for Ashton sending the fake I.R.S. to seize Timberlake's belongings. Kutcher came off like a nitwit. "I'm AWESOME!"

CNN Schwarzenegger press conference - Put this one to bed already. I can do a better Arnold.

Nick & Jessica - Very funny, and Fallon didn't even break character!

Omeletteville - Kind of amusing, no punch line.

Gary Busey - I don't know why some people hate Jeff Richards. He did a good Busey and Al Franken, and he does an excellent Dustin Hoffman and David Letterman.

Bahston Teens - I love this bit, Dratch & Fallon do it well.

Weekend Update - Standard.

Sharon Osbourne - For a quick second, I thought the dog really pooped. Armisen did a good impression, albeit brief, of QT.

Kermit the Frog - "The lover, the douchebag, and me!"

Carl Weathers - Surprise appearance, I like to see quick bits like this. Sometimes less is more. One point: wasn't Bill Duke also a black guy in Predator? How do we know Duke wasn't THE black guy?

Poehler molests Justin - I think Amy Poehler is totally hot, so I liked this. Even with the red wig and leprechaun outfit.

Barry Gibb Show - The falsetto questions and constant singing cracked me up, but does Barry Gibb have a rep for being unstable?

So far, SNL is 1-1 this season. Hope we get more episodes like this one.

Next week:
Spoiler:
Halle Berry

Honk!

It pains me to completely agree with the Honking Goose. I laughed at pretty much everything they did, with the exception of the bad Ahnold impersonation "and things of that nature."

I too like Jeff Richards. His impersonations are quite good, and they were solid last season too: Charlie Rose, Bill O'Reilly, Garry Shandling, Louie Anderson.

Great energy from Timberlake, and he certainly wasn't a liability in any of the sketches. to the writers working in the Zimmer thing so quickly.

I enjoyed it. Much better than last week.

It's not that his impressions are bad, they're actually pretty accurate. They're just not funny. He gets their mannerisms and things to a T, but then does nothing with them. Compare Norm McDonald's Letterman to his, Norm takes a few things from Letterman's persona ("Haha!" "Ya, ya got any gum?" "Nyyyyeeeeeeeh"), and then runs wild with it. Jeff Richards gets Letterman's manner of speaking and tone perfectly...and that's it, that's supposed to be the funny part. "Hey, he's just like Letterman! Ha, heh...now what?".

The Busey one is probably his best so far in that regard, but I still think he spends more time making his impressions accurate at the expense of making them funny.

I thought the episode was one of the best in recent memory.

The Punk'd sketch was frickin' hilarious.

The omelette thing was also hilarious.

The Kermit sketch was pretty funny.

The Newlyweds sketch was alright. It would've been funnier if Justin's impersonation was more like Jessica Simpson and less like Britney Spears.

The Barry Gibb thing sucked, but it was sort of funny when Jimmy Fallon did the falsetto thing.

I've never liked any of SNL's political sketches, so I'll just leave it at that.

Amy Poehler's Sharon Osbourne impression was pretty good. Horatio Sanz as Ozzy was pretty funny, tool.

I like the Boston sketch, but the one in this episode wasn't very good.

The Carl Weathers sketch was pretty good....even though he wasn't the only black guy in Predator.

Please drop the Arnold Schwarzenegger impression already. It wasn't funny at the Emmys, it wasn't funny last week, and guess what? It wasn't funny during this episode either.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed JT's performance. He did a great job.

"I will take you down like Don Zimmer!!"
