MTV Cribs

Man, I love this show. It's cool seeing celebrity homes and making you envious of what they have. :D

Did anybody catch the episode with Shaquille O'Neal's crib in Orlando? Damn, that place is HUGE!!! 64,000 square feet. That's right, I said 64,000 square feet. Not a typo.

Interesting that they showed his Orlando home and not his LA home (I assume he has one in LA). Or maybe he just has an apartment or something in LA.

He's got an indoor basketball court dubbed "The Shaq Center". He has a huge cigar room with humidor. A pool area that has a sign called "Shaq-aculpo".

He's got some nice toys. Custom-made Ferraris to accomodate his 7 feet of monstrosity, a Bentley with 22 inch dubs, Hummer on 26s, a West Coast Chopper with custom Laker paint, and a bunch of other stuff. Of course he has the Superman emblem on everything. Even his golf cart is bling bling. 5 inch dubs, sounds, the works.

I was equally impressed by the fact that he has a Segway.

Also, I had never seen his wife before. She's pretty...but I guess that's to be expected.

Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention his home theater setup. It rivals some of the home theaters of DVDTalk members. ;) Like I said before, he has Superman emblems everywhere--on the lights, the carpet, etc.

His wife's bathroom looked about as big as some people's apartments.

Nice sports memorabilia collection.

Oh yeah, his bed (with a huge Superman emblem on the bed spread) is 15 feet long and 30 feet wide. -eek-

You know, I enjoyed that episode. Shaq came of as a big kid. I usually dislike MTV's cribs since it's usually about someone like little bow wow and other acts who piss it away on stupid crap. I do think they are running out of people to do it on. Any time an episode is about the way Puck, from the real world lives, you know you have run out of celebs to do this for.

and of course, shaq had a poster of scarface. filling the quota of number of scarface items each MTV cribs subject has to have in their home.

Corky Roxbury 10-09-03 04:54 AM

yeah the house was amazing, I have also liked Shaq, just for the fact that he does act like a kid.

and his scarface poster was a least classy in the home theater, not like Trick Daddy who has Scarface blinds. :)

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that. He was proud that his blinds were one of a kind.

I laughed at Shaq-Apulco...

Joeboo835 10-10-03 07:04 AM

Its classic that he has the superman logo on HER shower door.

And I ask you all to take a moment, get a tape measure, go outside, get 4 rocks or sticks, and measure out 15x30. THAT IS HIS BED. The room its in dwarfed that bed, and its 15x30. That room must have been 80x80. Maybe bigger.

I also really liked this episode, and you guys nailed it. Its cause he comes off as a kid having fun.

What did he say at the very beginning? Something about being the only one on the lake? I was playing with my kid and she was making noises while he was talking at teh beginning.

So is Shaq's house the most impressive so far since the show has started? I know there were a couple more that were insane, like Master P's. Shaq's bed is just nuts!

I think Simon Rex has been the bottom feeder for this show so far.

It's definitely one of the most impressive, if not the most impressive.

I don't remember if I saw Simon Rex's house, but Method Man (I think it was him) had a pretty messed up apartment. It was hilarious.

Also, there was some dude from Jackass who lived in his van. I don't remember his name cause I don't watch Jackass.

This show is fascinating and depressing at the same time. I love to see these places, but at the same time I think "Wow, I'll never have THAT." But every once in awhile I'll see someone with a 100 or so DVD collection and I'll be all [nelson]"ha-ha!"[/nelson]. :)

until you realize that most of them can pull out enough cash from their wallets and by 10 copies of every DVD ever produced.:)

Jason Williams had the next biggest house on the show at 30k sq, ft, shaqs bedroom was at least 5,000 sq ft, if not more, I remember reading somewhere that the largest house in the us is in miami and it is 75k sq ft, owned but like an 80 yo guy

The biggest house I have been in, is a doctor out in Carmel, IN the house is 21,000 sq ft, and seriously you could live in there with a another person and never have to see them :)

That was Red Man. I remember someone saying how he's showing one of his homie's apt instead of his real pad. Something about avoding drive-by.

They showed Shaq's LA pad a season or two ago. But that one's small compare to his HQ. Hell, everybody's house is small compare to Shaq's HQ. Master P has nothing on Shaq.

I like the tricked out Tiger Woods golf cart. That was too damn funny.

I thought I read the biggest house was in the Bay Area. Maybe not, can't remember for sure. I read about it in the San Jose Mercury News a couple years ago. It was owned by a married couple (can't remember what their occupations were). They said that at least one time they were both home without the other knowing it because their home was so huge. I remember they had a huge garage, too, because the previous owner was an avid car collector.

I knew it was one of those two, just couldn't remember which one. I guess that drive-by thing makes sense; it's not quite as funny anymore knowing that.

His bed is 15' x 30'? That's friggin 2x larger than my bedroom. Must be good for a wild orgy :p

Michael T Hudson 10-11-03 10:11 AM

I am watching it right now and the hosue is amazing. I think that Aaron Spelling has a house that is like 60,000 in cali but I could be off. Just think about this a good sized grocery store is the same size that is nuts. :)

PJsig08 10-11-03 01:15 PM

I saw this too. Loved the cars.

If you hate the Lakers, I'm sure you just hate him. But as a Laker fan, he was hilarious on this show :D

I am thinking it was 15 X 15 it looked round so not sure how it would be 30 feet wide. It was huge whatever the size.

I'm a lifelong Celtics fan but I don't necessarily hate the Lakers. Because of Shaq's personality, I actually like him. To be honest, I like Kobe Bryant, too. It's hard not to respect their talents.

Bust 10-11-03 07:42 PM

Some of you guys have been fooled by a classic Shaq moment. He has no freaking idea how big that bed is, he just said 15x30' to say something. If you get a chance, watch it again, there is no way that bed's width is twice it's length. In fact, it does look very circular, which would make it 15' diameter, if even that.

Jackskeleton 10-11-03 09:55 PM

Looks like someone's jealous... ;)

Corky Roxbury 10-11-03 11:33 PM

no the bed is not 15 by 15 or then it would be sqaure and not a circle :)

but Shaq does lie(probably not on purpose) alot, I remember seeing a video from Unique auto sports in long Island(if you have seen the cribs episdoe about cars, it is where Busta Rhymes gets his cars done at.

Well about 2 years ago I was at unique(getting work done on a M3) and Busta was there getting a escalade worked on, and he had a video tape of shaqs cars, and some of things shaq was saying about them was totally off,

I do not blame, have of the things he buys he just buys to outdo other people.

Oh and by the way Shaq, I had a computer running in my m3, back in 1998, chump:)

The last car I worked on was a 2003 Jag. S Type r, they were putting a 42 plasma tv in the trunk, it was for some wall street investor that lives in NJ
