Enterprise 10-08-03
Episode Title: 'Impulse'
When Enterprise responds to a distress call from a Vulcan ship stranded in the Delphic Expanse, Archer and his boarding team are attacked by insane zombie-like Vulcans Teleplay By: Jonathan Fernandez Directed By: David Livingston |
When you read the summery is just sounds so bad and cheesy (Which is probably will be) but the promos didn't look all that bad. I'm watching with my fingers crossed that it will be good.

[/davebarry] "Insane Zombie Vulcans" would be a GREAT name for a band [/davebarry]
|
The only thing I remember from the promos is N’Pol screaming her head off. (It’s possible I’m confused: maybe that was me screaming.)
Hey! Isn’t it about time for a “clip show”? It’s third season, and I would think the obligatory clip show would be in order. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?!! Hello? Hell-ooo! Is this thing on? |
If they would have named the episode "Insane Zombie Vulcans", I bet more people would tune in...

Is this thing on? Archer, Trip & T'Pol could be exploring a cave when an avalanche blocks the exit. While they wait to be rescued, they would reminisce about previous spelunking adventures! |

Great/warped (greatly warped?) minds think alike, eh? ;)
|
"Insane Zombie Scantily-Clad Busty She-Vulcans", ifyoudon'tmind.

I thought they really missed out on a great opportunity for the ending. I was half expecting this:
Scene - Mess Hall as Movie theatre Trip and Phlox: Blah, blah, blah! T'Pol: (turning) Will you two please SHUT UP!?! Trip: T'Pol? T'Pol: Or shut your piehole, is that more appropriate? (Cold stare from T'Pol) (Trip and Phlox visably shrink back) (T'Pol turns back to watch the movie) Trip whispers to Phlox: I thought you said she'd recovered, Doc. Phlox: Recovering, Commander. There may even be some lasting effects; I'm not for certain. The Enterprise movie audience laughs at something playing in the movie with T'Pol laughing loudest of all. Trip looks at her with disbelief. It could be played for a humorous ending (remember when Star Trek had those once in a while?) and we could be left with the prospect of having a Vulcan occasionally prone to emotions making her the character with the most personality on this show. Really, why do Vulcans losing their emotional restraint always have to result in psychotic paranoia? Why can't they appreciate a good joke or something? |
 to this episode. but now it looks like they can keep the anomilies in the show whenever they are convenient

Could have done without the Jerry Springer opening. I’m still finding the Nextel commercials much more fun. Is Vulcan physiology so different that the trellium can make them all Night of the Living Dead while it has absolutely no freakin’ effect on humans?? I mean, there’s a considerable difference between suspension of disbelief and suspension of disbullsh*t. |
The good: using an X-Files-type device by opening with an event to "get your attention" then going back in time to show how it happened. I don't think Trek has done that much, if at all. Second, they continued the search for trellium.
The bad: darn near everything else. The storyline was boring and Xindi-less. The ugly: Blalock's acting. :yack: I always thought the acting on this show was below par, but that was just bad. What are we on now, the fifth episode? One was pretty good, one was OK, and three stinkers. Nice change in direction. |
I thought this episode was going to give me a seizure... the blinking lights on the Vulcan ship were a little overdone.

I would like to point out once again that, although I still like posting in these thread, I do not watch this show anymore. :)
|
So, what, you're just padding? ;)
OK. I have a confession to make as well. I don’t watch the show either. And I don’t own a copy of Battlefield Earth. -ptth- |

OK I just forced myself to watch this episode and aside from Mayweather actually getting some lines in, this ep sucked big time. The only other halfway decent aspect to the ep was the look Trip gave T'Pol after she basically told him to shut up.
The writers have got to do better than this. |
I'm seriously thinkin' that Bandoman has the right idea.
One thing that did kinda surprise me though.. I thought that the token security guy was gonna get it a la "red shirt". I was wrong! |
