Angel Season Premiere 10-1-03
Just thought I would start a thread for the season premiere of our now only outlet into the Buffyverse. Wednesday night will be a good night for TV IMO.

This wednesday is going to RULE.
I can't wait for the Angel premiere and am really interested to see how Spike will fit into the whole "Angel" dynamic...
the only thing that worries me is the statements Whedon has made about making the episodes more "stand alone" rather than having long arcs... the Stand Alone approach is more like Angel Season 1...the weakest season by far...specifically because it didn't have any good arcs and was mostly a "freak of the week" show... I hope Season 5 can meet my expectations and hopefully the episodes will only slightly stand alone... I love the continuing story type shows...certainly doesn't hurt Alias or 24 (much).... 1 more day...hell yeah!

It's a fun episode. Those of you expecting the return of a well known character will have to wait until the very end of the episode.

First two episodes are pretty darned good.

In 5.02, who is the actor who played the butler/henchman for the you-know who? I recognized him the moment I
saw him, but can't place from where, and it's gnawing it me. I recognized the you know who, too, and
couldn't remember from where.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone from the forum. I took the summer off and with the new season kicking in I thought I'd reenter the fray and find some interesting discussions. So Hi I'm back and I think Spike is really going to shake these up.We will all know tomorrow. Nice to see you guys again.

Harmony was one of Cordelia's stuck up friends in high school. she was turned into a vamp on graduation day. Since then she has hooked up with Spike for awhile and tried to lead a gang in LA. That, I think, is the last we saw of her.
Tonights episode was great! That mercy bit was very cool.

damn. this show has so much promise. it didn't show tonight though. hopefully the addition of Spike will help it out. but what would really help is the subtraction of fred - she's complete crap.
why is Harmony here? to fill in for Cordy? well, if ME wouldn't have painted themselves into a corner with the ridiculous Angel-Cordy thing last season Cordelia could still be here. No one fills Cor's role better than the bitca herself.
the 'mercy' bit was way cool... "but what's up with Angel's hair?" is all i kept thinking.
Wes, Lorne, and Gunn all still look good, and hopefully they'll keep Gunn away from fred ( an even more ridiculous coupling than A/C)
And was that the high school stripper from Boston Public? Man, she's annoying with her clothes on.
the slo-mo gotto go.

Had to wait wait an extra 2 hours tonight to see it thanks to the Cubs game, though watching the Cubs lose made up for the delay.
I thought it was good.
I've never been a big fan of Gunn and I don't know what to think of where they're taking the character.
I'm glad they didn't ignore Cody completly. Hopefully the fact that they mentioned her will mean will see her sometime this year.
I wish they would have just kept Lilah instead of bringing in Eve.

The fight scenes definitely looked more expensive, and good. I normally don't like wirework, but I notice Angel is the only character that uses it, so it does make sense that he would have enhanced abilities like that.
I actually like Harmony, and hope she will add some levity, but Fred is starting to grate already.

The really must have been tired of that whole "vampires can't be seen in the day angle" as they are pulling out every trick to keep him in light. I wish it was darker, but I guess I have to give it time to see how it grows on me. There is potential there, but there are a lot of characters now. I think we will have to see some deaths very soon.
