What was funny about that last scene was seeing one of the laughing girls fall out of her lounger.
|
Good episode...This is becoming one of my favorite shows...
|
Some great pool scenes in this episode - that was some eye candy.
Do they film this on location in Vegas? If so, where - Mandalay Bay? |
I still can't believe that Hollywood still think that computer guys from places like MIT act like that. Another thing that bugged me was the ending. "Did you really think I was going to kill him?" It was worst than last weeks; 'did you really think she wasn't really working for me to catch this con man?' ending. If I was the main character I'd have quit both times. How can you be in charge of security when your boss keeps jerking you around like that? Also, what was the point of turning off the cameras on the highway, if he wasn't really going to kill him and the cops were somehow secrectly called to meet them in the desert anyway? That was a waste of calling in a good favor to an old baseball "buddy". Oh well, maybe I'm just pissed because Nikki Cox only got 30 seconds of air time (if that). They're going to have to start focusing on her more if they expect me to keep watching. |
Speaking of Nikki Cox, I still have no idea what her job is supposed to be. In the one scene last night, it could be inferred that she used to be a prostitute, which is what I thought her role was supposed to be when I originally read about this show.

The eye candy in the beginning of the show was great - although the show has always had its share of eye candy. I was surprised that Nikki didn't get more air time; I thought on the last preview they said that "old flames were heating up" and it showed Nikki and Danny kissing?
The one thing I didn't like about this episode was the lifeguard sitting on the lounge chair. Unless he was on break I don't think any lifeguard would watch the pool on that chair because it was too low. Especially with all the drunken activity that pool sees. |
Good episode.
The MIT stuff was funny. I was hoping they'd reenact Sonny beating on Carlo when Big Ed found the guy. Vanessa Marcil in that bikini:drool: |

James Caan was a bad-ass in this ep. Loved it when he took it to the bouncer at the rave.
Molly Sims was actually pretty decent in this ep, I mean her acting, she's always great in every other respect. to Vanessa at poolside and to all of the other ladies. I liked the MIT sub-plot, too. It was kind of funny. great ep overall. |

Thanks for the recap Red Dog.

Originally posted by Tscott Same with the Sci-fi convention, although to a lesser degree. They were just played for laughs, 'Ha, ha, look how funny geeks are.' |
Did everyone else slo-mo/frame-by-frame that final high-speed highway thing? The sign still in the desert, the one at Caesars, MGM, etc. all had the "Cal Tech Sucks" thing on it.
Except, at first when they entered Vegas, the Stardust was on the right (which would mean they were headed northbound towards downtown) and then they started on the strip from about a block north of the Venetian to head down to <s>Mandalay Bay</s> the Montecito. It's obvious the pool scenes are at Mandalay (esp. the surfing contest). I'm assuming alot of the casino scenes are just done at 2am or something... About Nikki, I thought I remembered (in the opening episode?) she had an "appointment" with an older gentleman and Danny looked down on her for it. And in that same episode, they referred to (and waved at) the "hookers at the end of the bar". But then in the episode last week, they see the one girl working the guy at the bar and use her to set up the car buyer guy. Were those hookers at another casino (not theirs) and I just missed that? Or did they just pick on the one cause of her 'hard sell' tactics on property (while the other girls were just there waiting for a page from their "agency" or something). Or is it because they were younger and cuter? I've deleted old episodes, so I can't go back and look... |
So i'm a week and a half late with this...but the main thing that bugged me about this ep was the quickness of Neesa's "infiltration" of the professor's "group". I realize she had her father's creds that she was using as a reference, but, c'mon...that was just TOO quick.
In fact, almost every sub/plot seems to be tied up in the span of the 60 minutes the show's on the air [approx 44 if you don't count commercials]. Guys, it's OK to let some sub/plots build sometimes.. |
Las Vegas 11/03/03
Ed plays a cat-n-mouse game with Danny by pretending he's taking a vacation and leaving Danny in charge of security at the hotel/casino. The hijinks were actually pretty funny, even moreso by the enjoyment Ed was getting from all the chaos he was throwning in Danny's direction, while getting himself in the romantic doghouse with his wife.
Mike's subplot, being the lucky charm, was not so entertaining. Sam's subplot with the wronger Warners was also not so interesting. The girls giving Danny the Hot was entertaining. Was that Snyder (from One Day at a Time) who played the old-timer pick-pocket that Ed lets loose with the wheelchair raiders? |
I am enjoying this show more and more with every passing week. Tonights episode I felt was the most solid one thus far.
|
I love this show.
|
Great episode last night. The can-and-mouse game was fun to watch. I especially liked the ending, when Danny gets back at Ed by decorating his office Hawaiian style.

I think Josh Duhamel is getting better w/ each additional ep. He has really surprised me w/ his performance on this show. |
Nikki Cox needs to keep wearing what she was wearing at the end of the show.

This is a great show. I'm glad NBC has (thus far) decided to keep it around.
