So, what 9/11 shows are you watching/tivoing/taping?

Not an all-inclusive list:
CBS does plan to mark the 9/11 anniversary on ''The Early Show,'' broadcasting from Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan, where the second annual reading of victim's names will take place. On cable, the Travel Channel will continue with a week of New York-themed programming, the Discovery Channel will show documentaries about the clearing and rebuilding efforts at Ground Zero, and the History Channel will air a documentary about the construction of the World Trade Center. Showtime will re-air its docudrama ''DC 9/11: Time of Crisis'' Thursday night at 8. At 7, A&E will air ''7 Days in September,'' a compilation of amateur video footage of the attacks and their aftermath, followed by a ''Biography'' episode about Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge. And at 9, Trio will broadcast ''September 11,'' a compilation of short films inspired by the attacks, made by acclaimed directors from around the world. (Representing the U.S. is Sean Penn.

I'm pretty sure I don't care about the life story of Tom Ridge. Also, I'm not sure which of these shows are new and which were brought out last year. I may tivo a bunch of it, to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I am Tivoing 11'09"01 on Trio. This just played at a movie theatre here and I remember hearing about it when it first came out. I was surprised to see that Trio was airing it.

None. I remember that day vividly enough, and have no urge to recreate/relive/commemorate those events. I made the mistake of watching that French documentary once, and it made me physically ill all over again.

I'm with bralph. I don't need to reexperience it all again--it was painful enough the first time around.

Alias on DVD. I'm purposefully avoiding network TV on that night.

Hmmmm... I often find interesting viewing on the History Channel or Discovery Channel about all sorts of topics. I'm sorry that you have no interest in learning about things of the past.

Thank goodness for dual-tuners!

I can understand for some folks who might find coverage painful. I have no interest in seeing Good Morning America live from Ground Zero or whatever. But I'm wondering especially about some of the documentaries that might be well done. I found the "anatomy of the collapse" show on PBS quite interesting a few months back.

I'm certainly not saying anything about needing to "remember" or whatever, but since there appear to be a variety of options over the next couple days that might otherwise not be available, I thought I'd open up this discussion.

What's the name of that one again? I remember not being ready to watch it last year, but I'd like to see it.

Is anyone showing it this year?

Yep, that's it. I'd rather watch it for free on TV though.

Anyone know if it will be playing tomorrow?

I don't believe I said that so please don't print words in my stead. It's obvious you were asking about 9/11(the event) related shows/specials that would be airing TOMORROW. And in relation to that, yes, I do believe there are more important stuff going on in the PRESENT DAY to be concerned about than something that happened 2 years ago, no matter how terrible it may have been.

None.

But I wish I'd had the sense of mind to tape it as it happened, but I was kinda busy stocking up on water, milk, bread, etc. since we pretty much assumed when the first tower collapsed they were gonna close Manhattan and we had no idea what was gonna hit the fan next. My guess was suicide bombers in ambulances, since they were the only easily attainable vehicles that had free run of NYC.

Living 2.5 miles from WTC when it happened....

I was at the game, the most emotional sporting event I ever witnessed.

And to keep with the thread I don't need to tape any of the programs, once was enough.

Absolutely none. It wasn't like it happened 30 years ago. It was only two years ago. I remember pretty well what happened. I don't feel a need to rehash it again and again.
