New Fall Shows
What's coming out this Fall that looks good?
Personally, I think Carnival looks great. Do the networks have anything new that looks promising? |
I plan on checking out the following shows to start:
The O.C. - already watching and enjoy it. Arrested Development The Lyon's Den Las Vegas Skin The Brotherhood of Poland, NH Tru Calling Coupling The Handler |
I'd like to check out Carnivale as well, but sadly, my HBO-lacking ass will have to wait for the DVDs.
Of the shows that I'm interested in: Karen Sisco is getting some good buzz, actually some of the best out of all the fall network shows. So is Joan of Arcadia, despite the seemingly laughable premise. Tru Calling had a supposedly weak pilot, but I'll be watching anyway. Because it's ED, and I just can't not watch. Not that it'll last too long in that timeslot. I hear that Skin is actually pretty good, though it reportedly doesn't have as much to do with porn as I was hoping. But if it gets cancelled, I'll switch to Las Vegas, since I'm all about the Nikki Cox. Jake 2.0 is an interesting case. I like David Greenwalt, and I'll definitely check it out when it debuts next month. But since it's going up against DG's other show starting October 1st, that's when I'm going to have to rely on people taping it for me (my loyalties lie with the Buffyverse). |
What's funny about "Joan of Arcadia" (which I wouldn't watch if you held me hostage) is that the title character is played by the girl who played the slutty chick at the beginning of The Ring.

The O.C. - already watching and enjoy it.-won't last. it's on Fox
Skin-won't last. it's on Fox Tru Calling-won't last. it's on Fox Coupling-won't last. NBC won't give it a chance. of course I could be wrong. wanna place some bets?:D |

However, I think The O.C. will make it - at least to a 2nd season. It won't be asked to do a lot Thursday at 9 and I have a feeling it may get moved to Monday at 8 down the road, where I think it could thrive. As for Coupling, I definitely disagree. I think NBC will give this one every chance to succeed. They didn't put it in this slot for nothing. |
with all the negative stories about Coupling this show sounds like a trainwreck. The OC will get hammered by CSI and Fox will prob. keep moving it around until all the viewers are gone, just like every other show Fox has/had.

MissMatch! I saw the pilot and it was great; Alicia Silverstone is looking goooodddd!
|
Some shows that looks good:
Joan of Arcadia Cold Cases Miss Match The Handler Karen Sisco |
Where do you find the pilots? Are they all out there on the evil file-sharing services?
|
I'll be checking out
Las Vegas Skin Joan of Arcadia Lyon's Den Cold Case Tru Calling The OC The Brotherhood of Poland, NH. Maybe Karen Sisco and The Handler. |
I don't t hink there's anything that doesn't conflict with something else that's on tv. I'd watch that new Norm McDonald show if it's not conflicting with anything else.

A Minute With Stan Hooper.

I'm surprised to hear you say Miss Match was good, huzefa. It looks like a toned down S&tC to me.
Other new shows I think could have potential: ABC Threat Matrix - i like MI-5 and Alias, should be good Karen Sisco - I love the female lead CBS THE BROTHERHOOD OF POLAND, N.H. - David Kelly's hit and miss. This could be a hit. Cold Case - A good premise for a show, at leastd NBC Happy Family - great cast Las Vegas - NBC needs this kind of edgier show |
Looking forward to Karen Sisco & Miss Match. Will also try: The Handler, Tru Calling, and Jake 2.0. And although I am not a sit-com person, I'll check out Luis and Coupling.
Still undecided about any other new shows (waiting to read more about them). |
I'm looking forward to Karen Sisco the most. I've been in love w/ Carla Gugino for years and the character is excellent.
I will also check out: Las Vegas Lyon's Den Tru Calling The Brotherhood of Poland, N.H. Skin I'll probably end up watching Miss Match w/ the wife - she seems to be looking forward to this the most. I'm already watching The O.C. - this shows a keeper and I don't think Fox will dump it that easily. They are showing three times a week and giving everyone in the country a chance to check it out. Might also check out The Handler and Coupling... |
Where can I see the original Coupling?

I can't wait for Karen Sisco(Carla Gugino  )and Carnivale. Not sure what else looks decent so I'll have to check out some of the fall tv previews that are coming out now.
|
I'm a pretty dull TV viewer, but I am looking forward to Survivor 7 Pearl Islands. I hope it is everything I have hoped and read about so far (spoilerish).
I'll probably suffer through another season of Enterprise and start watching the OC that I have been archiving (with little attention to the content between the commercials I snip out). Then there is Tru Calling which will probably get cancelled. Hmm.. can't think of anything else I am really interested in watching. Oh yeah.. Jeremiah! |
Absolutely nothing catches my interest.
I'll watch "Carnivale" - but the previews keep getting worse and worse. This is the lamest season of new fall shows in the history of television, I believe. |
