Denis Leary - The Comedy Central Roast: Viewers Thread

at Walken. That dude has to be on the next season of "I'm with ____"

Colin Quinn was hilarious as well.

I'm so far!

Dane Cook needs his own show. I think that Martin Short show has over stayed it's welcome. Time to let some of these new guys shine!

The best parts were Conan, Walken and Jon Stewart. The rest of them were just retarded jokes. But those two rappers killed them when they told Liz Hurley the guy she was with looked ambiguously gay.

Started watching a lil while ago right when Dre & Lover came on.

The guy on after them was making fun of everyone but Denis. I thought the purpose of a roast was to make fun of the "roastee"?

[not that the stuff he said wasn't funny...]

I found Stewart's bit to be a on the unfunny side....sex with animals? ...I would hope he can do better than that.

The Priest guy was hilarious though

EDIT: BTW, who the heck WAS the guy with Hurley? He looked out of place

I laughed the most at Dane Cook and the dog clip. The poodle on the drums was hilarious. Cook's joke about Kiefer's film career was great also.

Quinn, Walken, and Conan were all good to. The rest was ok.

I love Gina Gershon but hopefully I'll never have to hear her sing again.

I thought the priest did well for not being a comedian, if he was really Leary's priest. The rest were average. I was kind of disappointed.

I felt like a lot of them didn't even roast Leary, but instead made fun of the other guys.. doing the roast. Is this how roasts norm go?

Since Leary's own production company produced the show, I'm guessing that a lot of the really embarassing stuff for Leary got edited out.

I thought it was very funny throughout. Leary's bit at the end had me laughing.

Especially the Lenny Clarke: Running for Cambridge Office story.

It was alright, and then Jim Buerer came out, ruined the ******* song, and the whole thing just angered me. The priest was great, Colin Quinn got a few good lines in, Leary came back with a few good ones, and the gay guy was funny.

I might actually have to plug in my TV to see this one...I don't want comedy central anymore, but I'm sure I'd be seeing promos for it all over the place if I was.

Ok, 9:30 pacific. I'm there. And I'll stick around for the Daily Show, the best show on comedy central IMHO. Where did TV funhouse go?

Nah, I think that's just a one-time promo thing the studio made up for the roasters.

It was ok. I think the funniest "roaster" was Adam Ferrara. The rest was pretty tame. Conan's bit was great, as usual.

"Where did TV funhouse go?"

I think some people bitched because it was so racist or something, and Comedy Central cancelled it. They air it during the middle of the night sometimes.

Is that the same guy that had the stand-up special where he yells a lot & takes his shirt off all the time. That dude is F'n hillarious.

I never watched any other roasts because they annoy me. But I am a HUGE Leary fan so I caught this one & it was great.

My favorite line of the night was Ed Lover pointing out all the people that showed up & then said thanks for coming Liz Hurley & bringing your "amibguously (sp?) gay friend". Liz looked so shocked.

I am amazed at the racist jokes that can be told at roasts that would not be acceptiable anywhere else, ever

When the main guy was talking about Dr. Dre and said that it was odd to see a black guy with Dr. in his name and not have a bone through his nose, my mouth literally dropped.

However, I thought that it was pretty lame overall when compared to most of the Friar Club roasts. I actually turned it off at the end when the guy ruined the song "ass hole" which is truly a classic, imo.

I am glad I watched it, but it really paled compared to the Friar Club ones. The last one with Hugh Heffner was classic.

"A Priest, a rapist and a pedophile walk into a bar...and that's just the first guy." That made me laugh a lot...

Overall, a decent roast...Dane Cook is still the man...

I was also disappointed. Not nearly as good as past roasts.

Wow, you guys are a tough crowd! Fortunately, I am blessed with the ability to be easily entertained. I loved the whole show, and thought everyone was funny. Except Gina, put on mute she was still fun to watch.
