Sex and the City versus Friends
Hi
This is the situation : I love Sex and the City. I have never seen Friends. So ... help me ... 1) Is Friends better than Sex and the City ? 2) Should I buy the all Friends Seasons ? ( I live in Europe and there´s a good deal at the german ebay ) Thanks in advance Edgler |
Try the BBC show Coupling. I think that is a lot more like S&TC than Friends is.
However, the early Friends seasons are very funny. |
I like Sex and the City a lot, but I think Friends is slightly better.

Early Friends seasons are very funny; later ones are just plain annoying and repetitive.
There is really no correlation between the two shows, though. One is a standard paint-by-numbers sit-com; the other is anything but. Liking one will really have nothing to do with liking the other. You should definitely track down some episodes somewhere to see if it's your type of show before dropping cash on all the seasons. das |

It had its moments from time to time, but it is no Sex and the City. If you are thinking about checking the show out, I would suggest getting the seasons one at a time and stopping when you get bored by it. Friends is a typical American sitcom with nothing more to really offer (I am not a big fan of most American sitcoms). I agree with whoever above recommended UK's Coupling instead. Very good writing. |
Better still, just pick up a few of the "best of" discs of Friends. Like em buy the sets, if not you are only out a little money.
Probably the 1 and only time I would ever recommend a best of disc over a season. But if you have never seen it, it is a decent option. |
Friends is different than Sex and the City. Both are very funny in their own ways.

I am a big fan of Sex and the City
Friends is OK |
I like them both but they are very different from each other. I guess the similarity would be the good interaction/rapport among the characters in both shows.

I think Friends is okay, but not great. I don't care much for Sex in the City.
|
I'm in exactly the opposite situation. I've been watching Friends for years and really enjoy it but have never seen Sex in the City.
Reading the replies here makes me think maybe I should give it a try but it just didn't look interesting to me. Now adding nudity to Friends would be a huge advancement for civilization in my opinion! |
